Bridle Ridge Horse & RV Camp

Just left after a 4 night stay. I must say our vacation was dampened due to our stay at Bridle Ridge because of the “trails” so I’ll focus on that for others to understand. If you like to trail ride, these trails will sorely disappoint. 90% of these “trails” are old service roads/logging roads and NOT trails and much of these “trails” are out in the sun so not much shade.. I drove almost 900 miles to trail ride. Yes the views were beautiful but we like to ride trails, not logging roads. I did quite a bit of research before choosing Bridle Ridge because everyone raved about the campground and trails so we were shocked when we figured out what the trails were like. Of the actual trails connecting to the old service roads, they are not marked and very faint. Sherri gave me tracks from Gaia to follow but It sure would be nice to have trail markers so I didn’t have to watch my phone constantly and run my battery down checking the app until I found the trail. If you’re Ok with these types of trails, then you’ll love your stay. The campground and barns are really nice and the shower house is amazing. Sherri takes extreme efforts to keep the flies down… no horses at your trailer. Bring your pellet shavings with you..2 bags per stall are required or you’ll have to pay for them through Sherri at twice the cost. No T mobile service.

This is a very clean and peaceful campground! Ride the many trails around the camp, or rent their small trailer and go to French Creek trail. The bathrooms and showers were clean and the stalls were very nice!

Sheri and Dave are amazing people. Incredible customer service, amazing facility, absolute care for every camper and their horses. Fantastic facility that may be in the most beautiful place on earth with incredible trails surrounding it in every direction. Nearby city of Custer has amazing food, shops and Adventure Rentals Polaris ATV rentals to drive the 20,000 miles of trails when you need to give your horses a day off. You won’t find better hosts nor better riding anywhere.

I cannot say enough about this place! The owners Sheri and Dave were amazing! They are very kind and made us feel like we were at home. The barn is beautiful and very clean. They have a bath house which was also very useful. They invited us down to a little bonfire in their pavilion so it was nice to socialize and meet, what I feel like will be, lifelong friends. Dave also adjusted our horses after our long ride to Mt Rushmore and he did a great job, they loved it!

What a gem of a place!! Excellent horse camping, location and atmosphere! Clean, extremely well kept facilities. Wonderful trails to ride from camp.

WOW, THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY!! Beautiful; secluded campground but, not too far from town if you need something. We had never met the owner before coming but, the entire staff was so helpful and accommodating; answered all of questions before we made a reservation and headed out. Feel like we have great, new friends! Miles of great, beautiful places to ride, no need to trailer out unless you just have a specific place in mind, and the barn was exceptional; so clean and spacious! We will definitely be back and bring friends along to ride next time. We come from North Central Missouri. Thank you for such a wonderful week!!!
