Customer Reviews
This is a great little campground that is well-situated and quiet. Located a bit out of town, we found it in the dark and appreciated having the convenience of bunks to roll out our sleeping bags on. Things were clean, and the hang-out/dining area was very pleasant in the morning. The kitchen is a great bonus, especially for anyone traveling with their own food. The pit toilet buildings are as nice as it gets for pit facilities and kept pretty clean. The campground owner booked us over the phone, which saved us the booking fee for the vacation rental website on which I found it. She was also a great information source for what to do in Mesa Verde Nat'l Park. We would definitely stay here again!
-0 Don’t bother staying in this place robin doesn’t know how to run a business. I told her I was leaving because my grandpa had died and I had to go plan a funeral and if I could get my money back?? She didn’t take in consideration. That I was going through a hard time she said she will have to see if I could get some money back. She always complaining about keeping the gates closed is 10 degrees cold outside and she have cameras outside, she always watching your every move and if you staying in the houses she be walking in the houses with out your knowledge if you’re not home, she’s money hungry she always trying to pressure you about a contract.
We went tent camping out here at the bright star campground and all I can say is wow! The host was fantastic! The grounds were amazing! And you’re just a 15 minute drive from Mesa Verde!! We will definitely be back!!
We camped at RV site Ute1, because we wanted the 30A outlet (didn't end up using it). The site was easily accessible, clearly marked, and tidy. It has 2 fire pit rings on the camp site. The public spaces were nicely kept. It was really great having a camper fridge to be able to put stuff in. It saved me from bringing a cooler! I worked on site, at the pavilion, 3 of my 6 days, and the Internet worked just fine for my needs. Also, it makes for a great office space! The showers were fine, and the vault toilets were the nicest I've ever been to. The camp hosts were all very friendly, accommodating, and responsive. The site is vast and surrounded by the beauty of Southwest Colorado. Great place to see stars on a clear night, too. The only complaint I have, and it's not a ding against the campground or hosts, it's about the area: there's a neighbor a few acres away, that has at least one dog. The dog(s) would bark very loudly at all times of night. One night I woke up at around 2AM because of the barking, and it didn't stop for well over 10 minutes. This is just something to be aware of that I think is specifically notable if you're tent camping or using one of the teepees. Sound carries in the open space. Thanks so much!
The hosts were so positive and some of the sweetest people! We felt so welcomed and the tepees we stayed in were awesome! We can’t wait to come back!!
