Plenty of space, microwave / fridge, very nice staff, but the hot tub wasn’t filled and we had dreams of a hot tub afternoon recovery after climbing the manitou incline. Maybe call to confirm hot tub availability before booking if that is key to why you are selecting bristlecone. We walked into town easily.

1st I have to say when I booked the room I wanted to verify it was a room with king bed and I was told it was. IT MOST DEFINITELY WAS NOT. We were celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary and I was thinking it was much nicer than it really ended up being. Not a horrible place but not what I was looking for at all. 2nd, being a DUPLEX (which it doesn't state in description) was NOT private at all. Bedrooms between duplexes are only separated by a thin wall. 3rd, parking... oh man... brought a pickup because well going to the mountains and possibility of snow... well the pine trees are about 1 foot apart all over the parking area and it was NOT easy to back out! And on ice... yeah that was crazy. 4th, completely missed out on breakfast because it didn't start till 8am. We had to get back home by 11am and had a 4 hour drive so we did not even get breakfast. Bummer. Paid quite a bit for the room with several expectations and needless to say, none of them were filled. But... if you aren't on a honeymoon or anniversary and can sleep in, maybe things wouldn't be too bad.

This place was just OKAY. We only stayed two nights. I wouldn’t have been happy staying here any longer. We arrived after dark since we road-tripped in from Oklahoma. The map took us down side roads that were blocked for construction. It was very difficult to turn around and there were zero street lights. Here i am single mom and two kids in pitch darkness in a place I’ve never been. It was off putting. We figured out by the map there was a highway route. Again when we arrived to the campground there were zero lights. I had an envelope on the office door with my name and cabin key. The cabin wasn’t too hard to find. First on the left behind the office. There was an outdoor outlet to charge my Tesla which was nice since the closest charger was half an hour away. The cabin appeared clean but once we got to utilizing it I had to dust off all services. The dishes were spotty and didn’t appear clean. And the master bed was so hard I hurt for days. The bedding seemed to be ten years or older. Glad we took our own pillows and blankets to use. Over all It was OKAY for two nights. We weren’t there during the day as we were adventuring. It took two hours from this location to get to the royal gorge and about 1.5 hours to pikes peak from here. I had no idea it was so far as when I mapped i, it seemed close that’s why I chose this location. Probably won’t be staying here again.
