Stay here regularly. So much nicer to have grass under feet, and tall trees for shade. Restrooms and showers great. Best of all-camp store has fresh pies-ice cream-tap beer-great sandwiches-and friendly staff. good place to home base a few days while sight seeing.
Greatest little RV park ever. Upon entering the office we were greeted by super nice staff, ice cream and homemade pies!!!! The rates are super affordable. On one side is a golf course; on the other is a big field with cows. Not much across or behind. It is a great location at the end of town as you're going towards L.A. or at the beginning of town if you're going to work Reno. There's a cute little Museum area done up like an old town. And there's plenty of tent camping if you're into that sort of thing. We're going to try to stay here a week in a few months. It's a great little place. And Bishop is a great little town.
We've been coming up to Browns Town for about 15 years. Never had a issue. Our group all reserved the same trailer spots in April for a annual trip in October. We all show up and apparently they screwed up our reservations so everyone is scattered at different sites. Ok fine. On our second day we are playing corn hole next to one of our trailers, not being loud at all, and a male Karen who has nothing better to do in his retirement years but complains we are being too loud at 5 in the afternoon!!! The staff stops by and first says quiet time is when the sun goes down then changes their answer to 7 pm then magically quiet time is changed again to 6 pm. So which is it Browns Town? This used to be a great place but now its a joke
Stayed at the Browns Town Campground Bishop on 9-19-24 and told them we needed a 2 night stay. We were put in site 14 on the first night but on the morning for the second night we were told that we had to move to site 10. I said you want us to move our set up travel trailer 2 sites over? This is ridiculous! Manager said site is booked for several days and you need to move. She also spoke like a smart ass to us as I explained that we have been customers for 25 years but she didn’t care so we went to another campground and will never do business with them again. They think they’re the only place in town, but they’re not.
We used a pull-through spot for our trailer and it was okay, but dusty as there was no grass. Only 30 amp electric service is available. The restrooms were clean and in good condition. The showers were disappointing. First, campers are charged for 7-minute shower tokens. Next, the boxes that are activated by the tokens and turn on the hot water in the shower are unreliable and finicky. One took the token but didn't ever allow the hot water to flow. Another box took the token but didn't initially work. After five minutes it finally activated the hot water. When I reported the issues to the front desk and told them I didn't like paying for a shower that did not work, the staff member merely said, " Thanks for reporting that." Next, the shower area was dirty and contained trash, an old bandage, etc. While we did enjoy pie ala mode at the store, we wiil not be returning to Browns town campground due to what I view as poor customer service and subpar maintenance of the showers.
