Bucks Campground offers a pristine retreat nestled in the heart of Colorado's scenic beauty, providing an ideal destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Located at 3807-3847 Co Hwy 155 in Meeker, this campground combines natural splendor with convenient amenities to cater to both casual campers and adventure-seekers. Whether you're planning a family trip, a solo adventure, or a group outing, Bucks Campground provides a welcoming environment that allows you to connect with nature while enjoying modern facilities.

At Bucks Campground, we take pride in offering a variety of services designed to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Our campground features well-maintained sites suitable for tents, RVs, and other recreational vehicles. We provide firewood available for purchase at $8 per bag through the camp host, ensuring you have everything you need for a cozy evening by the fire. The restrooms at Bucks Campground are clean and well-kept, though they do not have running water. However, water is available for extinguishing fires, and there's a nearby lodge where you can pay to use showers. We recommend planning ahead and bringing cash, as all transactions are cash-only.

One of the unique aspects of Bucks Campground is its remote location, offering a true disconnect from technology with zero cell phone signal. While this means no ability to call 911, it also provides an unparalleled opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse yourself in nature. We encourage visitors to enter your GPS directions before leaving Meeker, as you won't have any service to navigate once on-site.

Bucks Campground is a first-come, first-served facility for most of its loops, with the exception of the Shepherds Loop, which requires reservations. The equestrian campsite is also first-come, first-served. Our grounds are ideal for hiking, biking, and exploring the local trails, which are particularly stunning during the early fall when the surrounding meadows and forests take on vibrant hues. Be sure to bring bug spray, as mosquitoes and black flies can be prevalent in the area.

Adjacent to the campground, you'll find a lodge approximately half a mile away, offering additional amenities like showers and other essential services. The dirt roads leading to the campsites are well-maintained, so even cars without four-wheel drive can navigate them with ease.

  • Natural Beauty: Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, Bucks Campground offers a serene setting for outdoor enthusiasts.
  • Facilities: Clean restrooms, firewood available for purchase, and nearby lodge with shower facilities.
  • Activities: Hiking, biking, and exploration of local trails, perfect for nature lovers.
  • Unique Features: No cell phone signal, offering a true escape from technology and urban life.

Customer feedback highlights the campground's charm and unique characteristics. Visitors have praised the "nice CG loop" and the helpful camp host who manages the grounds. One guest noted that while there is no running water at the restrooms, the lodge provides an alternative for showers. Another highlighted the well-maintained dirt roads leading to the campsites, ensuring accessibility even for those without off-road vehicles. Many visitors appreciated the opportunity to experience nature first-hand, with one noting that the trails were "still green," which they found unusual and beautiful for the time of year.

Was there 8/4-8/6 and it was absolutely beautiful! Local trails were still green which was unusual. Mosquitos and black flies were horrendous but not too big of a deal if you pre spray your gear with bug spray. Firewood available for $8 a bag if you stop by the camp host in the reserved campground. Bucks campground is first come first serve for availability. And in case you don’t already know, there is zero cellphone signal—not even the ability to call 911. All photos were taken from the campsite at Bucks. There were two very clean single stall restrooms—however no running water. There is some water available to put out fires, but I don’t recommend drinking it! There is a lodge about half a mile away where you can pay to take a shower. Everything is cash only, including fire wood. Definitely put directions into gps before you leave Meeker because you will have zero service. Dirt roads going to camp were very well maintained so don’t worry if you don’t have a truck, your car will be just fine.

Nice CG loop. Contractor Host onsite and runs the CGs here. Of the four regular CG loops three are FCFS, shepherds is all reservation. The equestrian CG is FCFS. Note that these CGs have water, trash...but NO CELL SIGNAL.

While on a road trip from the San Francisco Bay Area to Northern Colorado in mid-August, 2021, we stayed at this campground for 1 night and had no problem finding a flat, site on a Saturday. About half of the 10 sites were occupied. The campground is located in heavily wooded fir forest that was spared by the 2002 Big Fish wildfire that blazed through 17,273 acres in this area. The vault toilet restrooms were clean and well supplied with essentials. One of the water taps did not work, but the two others in the campground did. All-in-all this is a great place to camp with easy access to the Flat Tops Wilderness trails and to Trappers Lake. This is actually one of 5 campgrounds in this immediate area, making up the Trappers Lake campground group.
