This place is beyond unacceptable! Staff was not welcoming and refused to give us extra towels and 1 pillow case for a pillow that had no pillow case. I booked two rooms, 3 people stayed in each room and we had only two bath towels and 1 face cloth per room. I went to the front desk and requested more towels and the missing pillow case. I was told that the front desk staff was not allowed to hand out towels and linens and I had to come back next morning and talk to the housekeeper. I was beyond frustrated, it was late and we just drove all day and wanted to take a shower but didn’t have enough towels for everyone. Next morning the housekeeper gave us such a hard time but finally gave us the towels but not the pillow case. The rooms were in pretty bad shape! There was mold on the walls and shower, the tub was broken and taped with duct tape, broken doors and bugs everywhere. The rooms were dirty and smelled like dirty feet.
Usually you get what you pay for. However, this place you definitely get even less than you pay for !. The rooms are dingy, broken, filthy and down right disturbing. We had two rooms for 6 people. They gave us 4 towels (to share). We had pre booked so they new We were 6 people. We went to the office and they refused to give us towels. We had to go back in the a.m. and ask someone else. The towels themselves are tiny, rough like 40 grit sand paper. I've posted pictures of the broken doors, duct taped showers, black mold equipped rooms and much more. I just couldn't get a close enough pictures of the ants, spiders and massive Roaches running around this place. The lady that checked us in was ignorant, rude and miserable. This place all and all seems to just be a dirty dive. If you can avoid it, do so !.
I checked into Budget Host Inn on September 24th, and honestly, it was not what I expected. The vibe around the place was pretty sketchy, with a lot of strange characters hanging out and smoking weed. The whole place had a strong weed smell—definitely not the relaxing atmosphere I was looking for. Things took a turn when I asked for a towel. The woman at the front desk, who was quite heavyset, acted really suspicious and suggested I must have stolen a towel. She even told me to step out of my room while she searched it, leaving my bags inside. As a solo female traveler, that felt super unsafe. It honestly made me worried about getting robbed, or worse. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a safe and comfortable stay. It just didn’t feel right, and I couldn’t wait to leave. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere!
Stayed 1 night, booked via 3rd party service. There is a deposit of $50. I had only 100, so they asked if it's ok to take this as a deposit. Not a problem. The room was ok for 1 night, but there was spider and rust in the bath. I took the spider out of the room. The problem was that I arrived late (1am) and there was no hot water. In the morning there was, so it was possible to take a shower before leaving. The bed was clean. The persons in front desk were friendly enough, but when I got my deposit back, there was a hole in the bill. The surrounding area seems to be not safe enough, a lot of strange people in the street. Maybe for 1 night is ok, if you're going to the Keys or back.
I booked through Expedia. DO NOT book unless you are willing to stay in a hotel that is nothing like the pictures and you have cash on you. Worst experience I have had EVER!!! Expedia should be ashamed to have this so called establishment on their website! I don’t travel with cash so I booked with Expedia. When I got there they wouldn’t give me the room key until I gave them $50 in cash. Expedia wasn’t any help either. After an hour on a chat they only refunded one of the two nights I booked. If you have any sense at all you will avoid this establishment at all cost!
