Absolutely beautiful! We were fortunate to be there for 5 days most of which we were nearly the only visitors. Gorgeous river views, wide beach area, nice trails! We will definitely return.
Excellent camping facilities. Forest rangers come by three times a day to check on the campsite, so security is awesome. We stayed for three days, leaving our stuff for hours to go hike the surrounding national forest. Nothing was stolen or messed with. Site is open year round. Electric and water hookups are available in summer. Fee required during summer and fall. Very busy during summer months. Not so much during winter. This comes at the price of average temps in the 20s - low 30s. Raccoons will get into your food if you leave your stuff out! I’m in my thirties and have been camping for two decades, and this pack of raccoons STILL managed to get the best of my “raccoon proof” coolers. Don’t be afraid of the coyotes in the winter, they will stay well away from your vehicles and tents. Just enjoy the night-time howling.
Stayed at B28, perfect big huge site for large tents. No trees in this spot which is great for safety (no worries about storms, falling branches, etc) -Electric (50amp, 30amp) -Water -Flat spots for level tent -Located right next to bathroom, super convenient (within 100 ft and in the loop)
B Loop is our "go to" loop for BPCG. You can get open or shade. Close to river access. Camp Host on Loop. Clean, quiet when the Day Use yahoos aren't clogging things up. I DO think that the maintenance and staffing is NOT keeping up with the increased use. People are killing the Point. More budget, more staff, restoration, planting, cleaning, and for haven's sake ENFORCE THE RULES!!!!!!!
Beautiful campground, awesome staff, what else is there to say, it's great!
