Customer Reviews
One of my favorite campgrounds and you don’t need to drive out of state to NH. Offers a nice lake, clean bathrooms and a store that sells just about everything. The management here does a good job of keeping things clean and doing rounds at night to enforce noise ordinance. 10 minute drive to East Beach.
Great clean wooded campground. We've stayed at tent sites & a cabin. Outhouses available all around. A couple Indoor bathrooms as well. Shower stalls for 1.00-$2.00 depending how long you want it on and they only accept quarters. There's an ATM at check in area. Get quarters from the arcade room. Campstore is very convenient. Has everything from eggs, bacon, sausage, milk, coffee, condiments, breads, non perishable foods, snacks, camping essentials, firewood bundles, games, kid stuff, first aid kits, cleaning supplies. They have canoe rentals starting at $40 and single kayak rentals as well for $60 each. Water spickets scattered around close by. Never had any issues with neighboring campers, everyone has always been super respectful. East Beach & Charlestown Breachway 5min down the road which has clear blue waters! ($7 to park at Charlestown Breachway) Walmart 10min from campground.
I gave it a five stars because of location, lake, staff friendliness and large clean camp sites. But restrooms could use more cleaning at non rush hour times. Plus they should have motor rv's placed in a designated area. We were fine tenting, then our last evening got a huge bus rv on side camp area running the generator non stop. Our site 461 was awesome.
Cheap cabin rental in a great area but there are flaws in cleanliness, rainwater ground flow and the versatility of sleeping arrangements in cabin M. The worst part was the three inch gap under the entrance door. We had to put a piece of wood in front of the gap to keep the chipmunk from going back in. Otherwise, a great campground with friendly staff that could improve with modernized and more cleanly bathroom facilities that better accommodate campers.
This review is about the cabins available at Burlingame, there is very little information about them online. Ours was brand-new, sitting on a tidy concrete slab, with windows on each end with good screens to keep out insects. No electricity or water, so bring a lantern. Also, Burlingame is very sandy: it would be a good idea to bring a small outside mat or broom to deal with the sand. There are 2 bunk beds with 4 single beds. No mattresses, just a piece of plywood, so bring a mattress or pad. We loved the cabin. It's a luxury to be able to stand up and not deal with a tent zipper. No grill, only a fire pit, so bring one for cooking. I'm taking off a star due to the very long walk to the restrooms/showers, with no evident path to it from the cabin area (and that park map needs an update!). The nearby port-a-potty was OK though. Burlingame is huge, but our cabin area (on the edge of the campground) was very quiet and we slept great. Beautiful forest, and it's close to many great beaches & trails. The people who run the campground are great. We will be back...
