Great location. Very very dusty. Wish the road in was paved but the area is awesome! Be prepared for the gravel road. It's not too rough but clouds of dust. The campground is next to the road so whenever a vehicle comes in... Well worth the effort! Cinder Cone is incredible! ❤️
One of my most favorite campsites. Huge spaces but know there is no local water or sewage hook ups. Stars are incredibly. Walks nearby amazing.
Pretty descent campgrounds. Each spot has a fire ring, garage bins with locking cover, and a picnic table. There are also many dry toilets and flushing toilets throughout the site. The Butte Lake is just a short walk away and the Cinder Cone trailhead is within walking distance. The only downside for this site is the 6 miles dirty road: you can expect to take 20 to 30 minutes depending on how fast you drive and you will most definitely need a car wash after the trip 😉
It is funny that Google is asking me to rate the rooms and the service for a remote campground like this! Haha! This campground is not for everyone. There are no hookups, I don't think there's even running water! But there is a lot of privacy, and a cool little lake. The hike to the cinder cone is short but quite steep. If you can do it, it's great!
Nice campground with decently sized campsites and shade. Very conveniently located near the lake, which many people were enjoying sitting by and swimming in. The lake is located right by the Cinder Cone trail, which is must do if you are a capable hiker (the home up is tough). Campground was full, but people were respectful. Would visit again.
