Our family was tent camping here this past weekend, and the location is absolutely stunning! It's quiet enough that you don't really hear traffic along the highway, and only a few minutes away from downtown BV. The showers had hot water and there was complimentary tea available in the lounge. We were able to access nearby hiking/biking trails from the campground as well. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful variety of camping/lodging options in the area!
The staff members here are exceptional. It had been 3 years since my last stay here, it was a KOA then, and I was pleasantly surprised how many subtle improvements have been made. The new owners are really making this a great campground and hiring some great people.
BV Overlook definitely lived up to their namesake. The view of the collegiate peaks from our site was stunning. The staff was friendly and it was obvious they all cared about the park. We had a fantastic stay. We reserved a full hook up, premium pull through RV site. We were grateful for the wifi and full hook ups. The water pressure could have been a touch better, but that's me being picky. We will definitely book for our next trip to Buena Vista.
What a cool campground. Nice staff, facilities, showers, etc. Camp spots have fire pits and they sell wood at the office. There are cabins to rent, tiny homes being built, parking for gigantic RV’s and of course places to pitch your tent. Our spot was down near the office and it got quite busy around us. If I go again, and I plan on it, I think I’d opt for T31 or T30 up on the hillside. Those have beautiful views and they’re up by a single bathroom with a shower.
I went here a few days ago with my friend to attend the Bronco Rodeo. It was easy to access the location, and the cabin. The lodge you shower and go to the restroom was also easy access - And it probably 50 ft from the Cabin, so it wasn’t too bad. The only thing I noticed was on some of the images, it shows a coffee shop. There isn’t a coffee shop onsite. The best coffee that’s close to the BV Overlook, in my opinion is Station 24. Their sausage burrito 🌯 is delicious! The coffee is great as welll. There is a rafting place near by, I would have loved to try that activity while I was there. The coffee shop and town aren’t a walkable distance. Unless you’re getting your miles in. Also, the downtown area is quaint, and I enjoyed it. There’s a restaurant called “Lariat”, that has the best fish and chips (and fish tacos) that I have ever had. I would definitely stay here again!
