Based on customer reviews, Cain Hollow Campground is situated in a gorgeous park with beautiful scenery, which is particularly stunning during late September and early October. The campground is located on a slope, which means that campsites are generally not level, and some are narrow. Campers should be mindful of ditches when backing in their rigs and be prepared for a climb to the washroom/shower facilities, especially from sites located at the opposite end of the building.
The facilities at Cain Hollow are described as very nice, and the overall park environment is highly praised. However, specific campsites may have uneven ground, with some featuring a gravel pad suitable for campers and other areas being less suitable for tents. There are also drainage ditches running through some sites, which can pose a tripping hazard, especially at night. For instance, site 77 is described as having both a gravel pad and very uneven ground, with a drainage ditch running through it.
The campground is considered a great spot for both extended stays and passing through, particularly due to its proximity to the magnificent Quaker Lake. Despite the uneven terrain and potential hazards, visitors frequently express a desire to return.

Here at the beginning of Sept 2023, was fairly quiet. Surrounded by beautiful scenery (would be even better late Sept. or early Oct.). Sites are not very level and narrow, be careful of the ditch when backing your rig into your spot. Big climb to the washroom/shower facility if you are at the opposite end of the building, but hey you are on a mountain. It is still a great spot even if you are just passing through, the Quaker Lake near by is magnificent too.
Gorgeous park and campground. Facilities are very nice. Cain Hollow is on a slope, so be mindful of that. We had Site 77 and it was ok. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is the campsite itself could use a little work. Half of the site is at gravel pad perfect for a camper, and the other half is very uneven so not much space for a tent or two. There is also a small drainage “ditch” going right thru the middle of the site. My concern is walking around at night, there are a lot of places to twist your ankle etc. so be careful. This is not a major concern or complaint, just an observation for Site 77. The rest of the park is excellent and we will be coming back!
We enjoy this campground and try to come at least once a year. We prefer Cain Hollow/Quaker Area over Red House Area for camping. The sites are roomier. This trip we stayed at site 73 with our 27’ camper. It’s not a very deep site but we did have enough room on the non-awning side of our camper to set up a large tent and play corn hole. On the backside of the campsite is a small embankment and just on the other side of it is a creek, which the kids enjoyed playing in. Campground bathrooms were large and clean.
Great campground with some privacy between sites and recent updates unlike the Red House area. The bathroom facilities were nice and clean and the park at Quaker lake was amazing. The only issue we had was low voltage at the 30 amp sites which drained our battery over the weekend.
We had site 48. It was beautiful, quiet, & peaceful, even though we were right across from the bathroom. It backs up to a creek. We had a couple visitors (raccoon & bear) no problems with them. The Park itself is fantastic.
