Very nice little campground. But because it has no hookups you will get the tourists who hide in their campers much of the day and run their NOISEY construction site generators all day!
Tiny campground on the edge of town with a pit toilet and potable water. Tent sites on one side, RV on the other. (1-10) Basically boondocking with great views. We reserved ahead and arrived to discover site 11 was not set up for a camper at all. We would have had to set up on the road next to the site but another camper had taken our tag off the pole and set up his site on ours.(he was drunk) No ranger on duty or host to help. We moved further down and camped in the grass. Be aware there is no one policing this campground after 5pm.
Absolutely gorgeous campground! Lovely surroundings. If you're not prepared to use a pit toilet or cart in water from the visitor's center, it's not for you, but this site was perfect for me and my travel partner.
I was bicycle camping and it was a bit of the beaten path. Biggest gripe was the $28 fee. The park IS beautiful. But the amenities are lacking. Potable water, pit toilets and few trees to hide from the sun. And yes a big RV was blocking views and running a generator.
Drive all the roads in the park that you can. Stop at some of the designated stops their are short walks like at the Amphitheater. You will want to just stand there and stare.
