This was my first ever camping trip, originally only 2 days stretched into 11 days because we loved it so much. The entire staff here is amazing. They all go above and beyond their duties. The Rangers are super nice and extremely helpful, clean bathrooms most of the week. Weekends are packed and the bathrooms get dirty fast. The Marina store has everything you need and the staff here is also amazing!! I can't wait to go back!!! Thanks for an awesome first time camping experience!!

We went camping with another family, and we camped at one of the group sites right on the lake. We had an amazing view and lots of places for kids and dogs to play. There were portable restrooms close by and restrooms with hot water and showers within a short walk. We appreciated the proximity of the water spikets as well for dishwashing. Some of the smaller sites looked very close to one another, and their lake access could also be used by others during the day. A playground was within walking distance, which was nice for our kiddos.

first night we encounter two cockroachs and a rat that tried to come towards us. as well as all the glass and trash all over the campsites and water. oh and also most of the water taps / fountains don't work and are useless. although the water is amazing and there really isn't any mosquitoes. it's an ok place.

Good spaces, definitely camping with the safeness of a casino half an hour away. Lake was pretty dried out, weather is hot and place can be a little dusty. Shower was free with hot water which was great. Quiet hours from 10pm - 8 AM which was enforced pretty well for Memorial Day weekend. THERE IS A LOT OF WILDLIFE aka turkeys, tortoises, birds, etc - so do proceed with caution.

Camanche Lake is a solid go-to spot for a relaxing outdoor getaway that doesn’t require going too far off the grid. I've been coming here for years with friends and family and it still holds up as a peaceful place to fish, camp, and unwind. The lake itself is huge and has plenty of shoreline access, whether you want to chill, kayak, or cast a line out. The fishing is usually pretty good—caught some nice bass and trout over the years. Weekends can get crowded, but if you come during the week or early in the morning, it’s much more laid-back. The campground is decent—clean enough, restrooms available, though some of the facilities could use a little updating. Staff at the gates are generally friendly and helpful. One of the best parts is the variety: you can tent camp, bring an RV, or even rent a cabin. Also, it’s dog-friendly which is a big plus in my book. Only downside and reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it can get really busy on holidays and summer weekends, and not everyone respects the quiet hours or picks up after themselves. Trash can sometimes be an issue in the busier spots. Also, the water levels change depending on the season, so keep an eye on that if you're planning to boat.
