The tent camp site had a good water view. The reason why am giving it a 1 star it’s because we couldn’t sleep the location is on the high way you can hear cars, trucks just horrible & train too. The Raccoons are brutal wanting to open the coolers each day we had to offload & reload. When l tent camp l don’t wanna hear highway traffic and the trains. Sleep we never had. I don’t know those in cabins or Rvs can hear the noise but it was bad. We paid $119 for the site and had zero sleep. Hot tub was closed.
The service was good, and the amenities were plentiful. The cabin was nice with facilities nearby. Only thing that could maybe be a little better would be a little better cleaning. We had a nice stay and will stay again when we're in the area. Has wifi that worked for what we needed it and a TV in the cabin.
This campground has improved a lot. I was not disappointed last trip there. Also seemed better value for money. Pool was open and we got the site we booked. Still small sites but mostly level. Free fishing in private lake. (This used to be a KOA)
So I will preface this by saying that the service we received from the office - in answering questions we had as well as showing us where our site - was exceptional. Our site was adequate and we were able to get parked and setup easily enough. Some things to be aware of beforehand. This campground is in line with a runway from the local airport. This campground is also near an active train track. I understand there is nothing that Camelot can do about these, but I feel it is only fair to make mention of them. If we are traveling through that area, my wife and I agreed that Camelot would be a good place for us to rest in the future.
We stayed here one night while traveling back to Minnesota from Tennesee. We needed a good night of rest and left the truck and camper connected. The site was level and easy to set up camper. We had water/electric and good Wi-Fi. There was an outdoor movie night that looked like fun, but we were pretty exhausted. We started dinner and ordered some wine thru door dash (suggested by lady at the check-in). It worked out great. The weather was cool so I left our main door open, leaving just the screen door to the outside. Something I do quite often. During the night a very large racoon (biggest I've seen) was scratching at the screen door. Luckily I woke up to the unusual sound. I turned on the outside light at yelled a bit and it went away. I shut the external door for the rest of the night. In the morning our screen door was damaged from the damn thing trying to find a way in. Not the fault of the campground by any means. I only bring it up so future campers know to shut their doors and/or leave an external light on overnight. Lesson learned!!! The campground was clean. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We'd stay again if ever in the area. Thanks!
