Great camp site with a nice view of the Chisos mountains, sunset was beautiful. Located approximately 30 mins down Old Ore Rd. Area can be exposed to wind, but was still enjoyable. We walked to the Ernst Tinaja hike from our site (approx 1.5 miles down the road). Had some AT&T cell reception when walking to Old Ore Rd from the campsite which was helpful to check pending inclement weather.

Beautiful views, it’s a drive but that’s what we wanted. We found that every night between 9pm-12am there were gusty winds up to about 30-35 mph, if not 40. Returned to campsite one night with our canopy completely destroyed about 300ft away caught on shrubs. Stayed here a year ago 30 more min up the road and didn’t have this issue. Don’t know if it was windy drafts from Mexico storms or just normal drafts from over the small mountain behind the site. Other than that this site was perfect. No issues with animals in this area, unless you leave food out

Nice campsite. It's a little bit of a trip from the road. Great place to set up to stay for a couple of days.

3 miles about at 3 mph, rough road. Good solitude, was kind of worried about getting out with possible storm brewing. No shade, bring ur own, hot
