Camp Deer Trails

We had our wedding at Camp Deer Trails in September and the day was absolutely perfect. The owners were great to work with and the venue was stunning, our guests loved staying in the cabins on site. We would highly recommend having your wedding here. It has a modern rustic feel and our pictures turned out beautiful!

My family and i booked 3 rustic sites over the 4th. Although we're a loud group, we didnt have 1 complaint on us. The sites were spacious and secluded from the rest of camp, we had a view of the water, with access close to our sites. They have 3 beach areas to swim/boat/kayak from. The restrooms were fairly clean, the showers were cool, outdoors/no roof, the water was hot, no complaints there. The outhouses were kinda gross, but to be fair they were outhouses. I was skeptical driving in by the overall look of the road, but absolutely loved the campground. Wasnt too packed, plenty of trails to walk along, lots of cabins scattered throughout the park, the owners were friendly and accommodating! Our group will definitely return!

We had our wedding here earlier this year and we loved this venue so much! We got the package where we got the venue for the whole weekend and being able to set up so early on Friday and then not having to clean up until Sunday morning took a lot of stress off of us. Our friends and family were able to stay in the cabins and having them with us all weekend made everything even more special. The owners were great to work with and were always available to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend this venue!

UPDATE, The response from the business isn't correct. First I seen NO modern "bathhouse", I did see a modern "bathroom", NO SHOWERS in it! You can say there was hot water, but after I let it run for 10 minutes and didn't get any warm water, I simply don't believe you. The outhouses ARE NOT useable, are you mad? Not ready for prime time! First off if you are interested in the "wedding services" you might be ok here, read the problems below though. Camping really sucked! First there was little to no communication at check-in. No rules, no map, no anything, just told which way to go to site. While setting up camper, I needed the bathroom, there appeared to be a outhouse right there. But, the out house turned out to be old and not in use anymore, even though it was still there. I mean it was not maintained at ALL! No seat, no toilet paper, no hand cleaner, etc. There are several of the "bathrooms" around the campground, all look the same, NO maintenance at all. The "out houses" should have been removed years ago. I'll be contacting the health department about these. Showers? OMG, there is a structure that has showers in it, NO ROOF(it's open to the elements), NO HOT or warm water, Filthy inside, also not really maintained. I believe some of the rental cabins have showers. I called and explained that there was no hot water in the showers, I was told to let it run for a minute, so, I let it run for 10 minutes in both the shower building and the "New" bathrooms, NO HOT water after 10 minutes. DO NOT EXPECT TO GET HOT/Warm WATER HERE! oh yah, NO dump station either! where are you suppose to dump your holding tanks? Obviously we will NEVER be back here again.

Getting married here was an absolute dream! When we did our tour here with Courtney I can't explain how calm and peaceful I felt just being on site (and wedding planning already had me a bit anxious and stressed out) It was only the second venue we looked at but we didn't need to look anywhere else, this was it! We knew that we didn't want our wedding to just be a one day celebration if we could help it. It truly does fly by so fast! And the option to stay on site for the weekend with all of our family and wedding party was one of the biggest highlights for us, and it exceeded our expectations and made our wedding weekend so incredible from start to finish! The venue coordinator Courtney was fantastic! She has been so sweet, patient & easy to work with! She was there for us any time we had any questions about anything and helped make everything go smoothly for the whole weekend! We did our rehearsal dinner, wedding dinner and next day brunch through Cole Catering (onsite caterer) Mark & his team were awesome and everything was delicious! This was also another perk of the venue for us that we could do all of this on site! One of the best things about the venue to us was the multiple options we had for a ceremony site as well, we hoped we could get married on the beach but knew end of October would keep us on our toes, having back up plans in case the weather didn't work out put our minds at ease that we would be able to work it out no matter what. Luckily we had great weather and got to be outside and the photos with the treeline behind us are so stunning! (even with some naked trees lol) The reception lodge speaks for itself, it almost doesn't need any decor. Having a space that was beautiful made for an easy canvas to do as much or little decorating as we wanted and it looked great! All in all we had such a memorable weekend filled with love getting married here and now we can't wait to come back and stay for anniversaries! Another special part to us that you don't get at most venues, being able to go back to where you got married to relive all the happiness. Absolutely would recommend Camp Deer Trails to anyone looking for a relaxed and beautiful time!
