Very nice place to go with the family, kids friendly, on summer days the spray park is on, but usually is very slippery do to lack off maintenance, is a beautiful place for a picnic while the kids enjoy the playgrounds, there's trash cans, wheelchair accessible for playground and parking, public bathroom
Camp Eastman playground and splash pad. Across the road from Durand Eastman beach. Five minute drive from 590N or Ontario Expressway. Small playground for younger and older children. Lots of shade, which is a plus. Bathrooms, soccer fields, pavilion with picnic tables & plenty of benches for adults. Pretty Gazebo too. My three year old enjoys the playground very much. I gave this a three star because the splash pad is grimey. Kids running can slip and fall. Must wear water shoes to go in splash pad. No slide, just sprinklers. Garbage cans for trash. Plenty of parking. One thing to keep in mind: this play area is at Camp Eastman which , from July through August, is a day camp for kids. There may be times of day when it is busy. When we played there today (August 5, 12pm-1:45) the playground and splash pad were not being used by campers. All in all, its a nice place, and for a kid, its just right!
We visited to use the Splash Pad and I was pleasantly surprised by the adjacent playgrounds. The splash area is small but we’ll contained, but I was super disappointed by the length of spray time. My 2yo was pressing the button every 2-3 minutes because the water shuts off so quickly. The playgrounds are great though and there is plenty of shade. It was not busy on a weekday before lunch time.
Love this place. My kids can play for hours and it is very cultural diverse area. I love that my kids can come here and play with kids that look like them. Never had an issue here. We bring water shoes to prevent slippery, we bring a pizza and it is all good for us for hours.
We rented the veterans lodge for my sons graduation party. When we came in the stove was on, the walls were covered in old tape, command strip and just in need of paint. The frig didn't work well enough to keep the food cold and old cake was on one side of the frig. One ceiling fan didn't work and the other was about to fall from the ceiling. The back door had a window but no screen in it so you couldn't open it the front door was the entrance for the bee hive that is in the wall. This lodge is in need of serious TLC. Needs a roof, paint and just be upgraded. It's a nice park but the lodge is definitely an issue
