I went to use the bathroom amenities and when i opened the door there was a young child elbow deep in the sink washing her pet ferret. Shocked- i asked her if she was allowed to do that / ask for permission to which she said the people at the front desk don’t mind. When she left i went to the sink and there was ferret poop left in it. Totally unsanitary. The condition of the bathrooms / smell make it a 1 star stay for me. Id rather go in the woods to relieve myself when we stay at camp overflow.
1st time camping here and a great experience it was. The office personell along with the young guy that assisted us with a boat rental were all extremely polite. Seasonal campers always waving and made us feel welcome. Bathrooms clean and location to the resavoir is amazing. We got lucky and came on the weekend they celebrate the 4th with an amazing firework display. Only concern we had was the dump station. Our friends had a difficult time maneuvering their RV around the corner so we chose to not dump which isnt something we preferred to do. All in all, great camp ground and look forward to returning.
Definitely not a place to tent camp. The sites are very close together and rocky. There are 3 “tent” site where we were none of them was level. You are surrounded by RVs and after 8:00 pm they all go inside and start their AC units. I think our “tent” site was just an trailer site they hadn’t rented. There is no view of the water and beach looks like a old boat ramp. There is a gate to get in and out really?? What really did it for was having coin operated showers !!! Just charge me the extra $2 a night. The showers are dirty and one was broken!! Also charge you $15 for a gate pass. Might be a great place to park your trailer for the season but not a place to tent camp for a few days. Very disappointed the place does not live up to the marketing.
My family began camping at Camp Overflow when I was 7 years old. I am 64 now. We were seasonal campers. My mother and my sister, brother and I stayed throughout the summer while dad came up on weekends. Ray and Bea, the original owners, were great. We would spend all day at the beach and get snacks at the snack bar. It was a great experience. Once we kids got jobs and graduated, my parents continued seasonal camping until their health created issues for them. I see that things have gotten better there as the campground continues to expand. It was a great life all those years ago. I can only imagine how much better it has gotten. I hope COVID does not curtail the camping season. Enjoy Camp Overflow. We sure did!
My Girlfriend and I had the Best Time at Camp Overflow Memorial Day Weekend into Thursday! It was a last minute planned trip. And I am glad we did it! The staff was amazing and everything was soo clean even considering pets where aloud! I have been to sites where people don’t pick up after there animals and it’s everywhere! It was soo clean here as well as the bathrooms and showers! Everyone was soo friendly, including the seasonal families visiting for the weekend! Kaitlin and I put our names down this morning before checking out for a seasonal site! Soo worth it! We love it here!
