Customer Reviews
Great place for scout camp. There were fears of elevation sickness, but nobody in our troop has had issues. The campgrounds are nice, food is good, staff is great, and the activities are wonderful. The only trick is the crazy set of switchbacks up here. Our truck and trailer made it up fine. Our small car did a great job but it needed a driver that was used to some off-road driving. It’s clear that the camp has been closed for five years but it hasn’t stopped us from having a great time.
Fun camp, I drove my Ford Fusion up the trail it was fine just go slow. Watch out for the trees due to the fire 5 yr again. There is cell service up here. This is the highest altitude camp in the nation and it been around for 50 yr this year 2022 they so are revealing a time capsule
The camp was shut down from 2017-2022, when it just opened back up. A great camp with different activities such as a shooting range, ropes course, food plan available and various merit badges during the scout weeks. It's also available for youth groups
Thunder Ridge Scout Camp. Brian Head Fire burned around the scout camp because the Forest Firefighters camped there to fight the fire in 2017. Now the loggers are cleaning up the area in 2018. We went in 2018. Sad to see the devastation of the Trees.
Beautiful area. This scout camp is equipped with running water, warm showers, pavilions and out houses. Closed during winter months. Not available to the public.
