Customer Reviews
Mainly for horses and horse camping. Not a lot of trails for hiking. Area has been logged trees are small and no real attractions or good views of the surrounding area. To summarize minimal trails through logged forest. Setup is mainly for horse campers and a little trail riding.
Camp Wilkerson is one of my most beloved places in Oregon. It's small, but grand in the sense of trails and outdoor exploring. I have never been here for camps and neither have my kids, but I've stayed in the cabins numerous times and have made day trips several times a year. It's well maintained. Has bathrooms that are clean and comfortable. The newest built (remodeled?) bathrooms near the horse camps have showers as well. Besides the great cabins and trails, there is wildlife that can be seen as well (take a look at those prints!). We've never seen any cougars around, but know they're out there seeing you before you can sense them. Trails are abound that can also lead outside the actual property of Wilkerson, that end up just being an extended adventure. There are log roads near as well that can be walked up and down that connect to the property. So getting around on foot is not an issue at all. My 6 year old loves the place and our dog ventures with us. He gets excited just getting near the place.
Camp Wilkerson Park is a peaceful retreat that allows you to disconnect and recharge. With no internet, it's a great place to unwind and enjoy nature. The trails, including horse trails, are fantastic, and the park provides bathrooms and showers for convenience. Highly recommended for a tranquil getaway.
