Location and Accessibility
Camp-Woodpecker is situated in a secluded, wooded setting at 7975 Co Rd 181, Eutaw, AL 35462, USA, placing it strategically in Greene County, Alabama. Its location offers a deep sense of escape while still being reasonably accessible from major Southern cities.
The campground is conveniently located just off Interstate 20/59, making it a viable drive from key Alabama metro areas:
- It is approximately 37 minutes south of Tuscaloosa, a quick trip for residents of Central Alabama.
- It is easily accessible from the I-20/59 corridor via Exit 40 (the exit opposite Love's Truck Stop).
Once off the Interstate, guests must travel west, with a short segment on County Road 181. Though the final stretch is on a county road, the management advises travelers to call the office upon taking the exit, as staff are available to meet guests at the red entry gate. This personalized check-in process helps ensure a smooth arrival, particularly given the campground's private nature and gate closure time (typically 8 PM). As a secluded destination, guests should be prepared for potential limited cell service, making the use of the provided address and a quick phone call essential for easy navigation.

Customer Reviews
I visited Camp Woodpecker for the first time this past weekend and had a genuinely great experience. I’ve stayed at a couple of other gay campgrounds out of state, and this one stands out in all the right ways — beautifully maintained pools and hot tubs, a great on-site restaurant, and a really welcoming atmosphere. I stayed in one of the cabins and it was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The shower house was also spotless and clearly well taken care of. The owners and staff were warm, friendly, and genuinely happy to have guests there. I even bumped into some old friends and made new ones along the way. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be back.
This past weekend was an outstanding time with my leather brothers on this campground. For it to have two pools with one heated, two hot tubs, a sauna and a playroom plus a trail was great entertaining for us all and to know that your breakfast is included with your room! We had a great time of brotherhood bonding and other campers were very friendly. The facilities were clean and there were plenty of restrooms and places to shower. I love the bonfire that we made on Saturday night. And it has leather store and also a big leather van (COMPLY LEATHER) FOR HARNESSES LEATHER SHORTS AND SHIRTS AND OTHER LEATHER GEAR APPAREL. I TRULY RECOMMEND
This is an amazing resort style camp ground. Whether you are in a cabin or a tent they have what you need for a relaxing weekend. There are two amazing salt water pools and many more accommodations. This place is worth making a stop. It is so quiet and peaceful. The staff is extremely kind and pleasant. They were so very helpful. The good is really good. I can't wait until my next visit.
Partner and I always say we want to try other campgrounds but we just can’t! Eutaw, Alabama might be the geographic center of Southern Hospitality. The grounds are lush and well-maintained. The staff is guest-oriented. The food is delicious. 2 swimming pools flanked with large decks. Plenty of sun OR shade with massive umbrellas along the pool. Our dog LOVES Camp Woodpecker! Can’t recommend it enough! (We travel from Nola. Less than 4 hours)
My husband & I have visited here many times over the past few years and really enjoy it. Staff, owners and guests are always friendly. They have nice sites and keep the trees well trimmed to easily accommodate our large RV. Not much to do nearby but the vibe in camp makes for a great, fun and relaxing time.
