Location and Accessibility

Camper's Paradise Office is situated at 19478 Edgewater Drive, Nevis, MN 56467, USA. What sets this campground apart is its unique location on a private island in beautiful Lake Belle Taine. While it's an island, it's not inaccessible; the island is reached by a narrow causeway and bridge, allowing vehicle access to your private slice of paradise.

Nevis is nestled in the heart of Minnesota's picturesque northern lake country, strategically positioned between Park Rapids and Walker. This makes Camper's Paradise a convenient destination for many Minnesotans:

  • From the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul): The drive is typically around 3.5 to 4 hours, making it a popular choice for extended weekend trips or longer summer vacations.
  • From Fargo, ND (near the MN border): Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, offering easy access for northwest Minnesota residents.
  • From Duluth: Roughly 2.5 to 3 hours, providing a different route for those coming from the northeastern part of the state.

The approach to Camper's Paradise is part of its charm. As you drive across the causeway onto "the island," you immediately feel a sense of seclusion and escape. Directions often guide visitors to take County Road 18 on the north side of Lake Belle Taine for approximately 3 miles west, following their clear signage. While the island's roads are sandy, they are part of the rustic, natural experience. This unique island setting on Lake Belle Taine, part of the famous Mantrap Chain of Lakes, ensures that you are surrounded by water and nature, truly embodying the spirit of Minnesota's "Land of 10,000 Lakes."

Great spot! We were very happy with our stay. Got a cabin by the lake for the weekend. Plenty of amenities. Boating was great. Fishing was great for others, but we didn't catch anything. Loud beeping from the office (freezer?) keep one of our party up the first night, but they took care of it. Very helpful staff too. Would definitely recommend and go again in the future. Thank you Camper's Paradise!
