Camper's Paradise was a popular choice among travelers seeking a convenient and affordable camping destination near the beaches and downtown areas of Grand Haven, Michigan. While it is currently permanently closed, its previous offerings included full hookup sites with water and electricity, clean restrooms, and free Wi-Fi for guests. The park boasted well-maintained grassy areas, shaded campsites, and a prime location just minutes away from the beach and downtown attractions.
Customers highlighted both the positives and challenges of staying at Camper's Paradise. While some appreciated the clean facilities and proximity to attractions, others noted the noise from nearby highways and the lack of availability for certain amenities like the pool (which has been cemented in). Despite these limitations, many visitors found the park a suitable choice for their camping needs.
While Camper's Paradise is no longer operational, it remains a notable example of a campground that balanced affordability with access to nature and local attractions. Those interested in similar camping experiences are encouraged to explore other nearby parks or accommodations in Grand Haven.

This park is located next to the highway, you will get highway noise. The operators of the park strictly enforce the speed limit, you basically idle around the park. If you don't follow the speed limit they will chase after you in their golf cart. Aside from those oddities, the place is clean but dated. We did not use their shower, as they have water and electricity. The location is good and price is good if you have passport America. The sites are level and have nice large shade trees on most sites. During the week the Wi-Fi worked well not so much on the weekend when they had more people. The grass is will maintained and the campground is very tidy. I would recommend spending a few moments talking with the operators it will make your life easier.
I made the reservation before checking reviews. Glad I did because I probably wouldn't have stayed here from what I was reading. Well, we had a great time. Stayed two nights over the memorial day weekend. Yes, they are sticklers for rules. I did see the owner ask neighbors to move their stove off of the picnic table and talk to a car that was going too fast. Just be respectful and you'll have a fine time. The restrooms are older, but very clean. Showers are tiled and the water was clean and hot. Firewood was $5 and lasted about 4 hours. Free wifi (ask for the password), water and electricity at every site as well as access to downtown or the beach a five minute drive away. Yep, it was jammed in between the 55mph Highway 31 and railroad tracks. I never once heard a train go by, but the traffic is loud. We slept fine, you end up tuning it out. The pool has been cemented in, but again.. beach. I would stay here again.
Our overall experience with this campground was good! We read all the reviews online before we came and almost decided to not come. I’m glad we came to see what it was all about. The speed limit is strictly enforced, but we had no trouble at all. The owner was great! Again, we didn’t have the experiences that other had at this campground. The road noise is loud, but not terrible. Very quiet campground overall. The facilities are outdated but CLEAN! We will definitely be back!
I stayed at Campers Paradise on Coast Guard weekend and had a great time. The other reviews I have read just made me laugh. I wonder if that is all some people do but sit at their computers and complain about things? Does the campsite have rules? Yes Do the owners let you know if you are breaking a rule? Yes Are they nasty about it? NO I mean give me a break people, is it so hard for people to follow the rules today? The camp site is clean. The bathrooms are older, but clean. Yes, the campsite is behind a car dealer and next to US 31, but isn't everything in Grand Haven next to US 31? It's in a very nice location and easy to get to the State park and downtown. We even had an incident where we had to take a person in our party to the hospital and it was only 2 turns and 3 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again. I thought the owners were very friendly but maybe that's because I get out and enjoy meeting and talking to people and don't sit at a computer all day long hanging out with my virtual friends.
I have never left a review before on anything as I have never felt the need to, but I have never been so disrespected EVER. After checking in at the front desk, I drove towards the campsite. It was then that my friend and I noticed loud yelling coming from a site that we had passed. An older man and woman chased my car down, all while screaming at me incomprehensibly. They surrounded my car on both the drivers side and passenger side and parked a golf cart in front of my car. I was trapped, confused, and honestly quite scared. These people did not introduce themselves, and they harassed me and my friend for going no more than 10mph when the speed limit was 5mph, which I was unaware of at the time. They then asked for my information. After I asked who they were, they said they were the owners. Based on how they were talking to me, I did not believe it. They escorted us out of the park (going 7mph). I stopped to talk with the front desk lady to verify their identity. Shockingly, she did confirm the man standing next to me was the owner. The owner continued to berate me and refused to give me a refund. I later received a call from the county sheriff saying I was banned. If you make the mistake of making reservations for this hell hole as I did, just know you can dispute the chargers if you paid with a card. Also, I am reporting them to the BBB and Grand Haven Tourism. Please do not make the mistake I did.
