We really enjoyed our 5 day stop over here! Great spot to rest and relax in between our travels. Owners are very nice and friendly- so nice to meet Greg. Y’all have a great place coming along here! Site was very big and roomy, easy backin off the road, with full hook ups. Very quiet. We cooked three meals over the great fire pit! Lots of backroads to walk the dog or ride the bike.
This campground only has 4 full hook up sites. Nicely spaced and a mile or so outside of Keaton Beach. They email you your site number and the combo for both the entrance and power pedestal locks. No check in. At our stay we decided to cut short do to a storm and a warning that we were in an area that could be impacted by the pending storm (Update - pre storm the Weather Channel showed a map where areas in Taylor County could flood, block roads etc.) so playing it safe we decided to bale to higher ground. Now this was our own decision to bale and we will be returning since it is a nice spot. Quiet area off hard pack sand roads. Hodges Beach looked inviting for a picnic and some sun 🌞. Not much in Keaton Beach unless your a boater and fish but Perry being about 1/2 hour away provides for shopping and restaurants. Do visit Johnsons Bakery for delicious donuts. They do have a lunch menu too.
Keaton Beach's Best Kept Secret! We spent 4 months snow birding it here! Clean, exceptionally quiet and private. Brand new hook ups with no problems. Owners are so nice, friendly, and helpful. Through our 4 months we canoed many rivers, hiked, went birding, visited springs, visited archeological sites, and much more. Perry is a short drive for everything you need. We felt very much at home!
We stayed at Campfire at Keaton for the first weekend of scallop season. The campsites are roomy compared to the others we saw in the area. The area is very quiet and there were only 3 or 4 local vehicles that went by the campsite all weekend. There is a cell tower down the road so I got great signal. Chuck was great and very responsive. We'll come back for sure!
Awesome spot very high no water. Great details for using from owner and private and relaxing. Price was very reasonable. Glad we found this.
