Here’s what some of our satisfied guests have to say:

  • "Awesome place with awesome views. Saw deer and turkey all over as well. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The grounds are expansive with hiking trails all over the place. It's maybe 5 minutes from Weaverville which was surprisingly cool. This is our new spot when visiting Asheville!"
  • "A small campground with huge views. We stayed in a premium site that backs into said view. The owners are super friendly. We did see one black bear which was alarming and cool at the same time. The road in and out of the campground is tricky. And having to u-turn to leave is even more challenging. Otherwise, it’s a great spot located not too far from all of downtown Asheville."

Absolutely loved this little Campground. The road coming up the mountain to it is steep and narrow but it's worth it. Got a premium site for our camper overlooking parts of the smokies and Ashville. Takes about 12 mins to get downtown Ashville too. Hosts were extremely friendly and nice. We will return!

The place was one of the better views we had. We stayed in one of the premium sites that backed up to the view. My only word of warning is for those with big rigs. I wouldn't consider this 'big rig friendly' but it's big rig friendly adjacent. The road up to the sites need to be re-done. It is very rough. The turnaround to get down the mountain was to date, the hardest turnaround of any campsite. Ask the people who work there to show you how to u-turn there. I am a fifth wheel that is 46ft long with a long bed truck f 350 and I made it, but it wasn't the easiest way down. I worried about the whole week we were there.

Absolutely wonderful stay at Campfire Lodgings here at the end of February 2024. Easy access from the highway and the climb to the top was a breeze thanks to the wide driveway. Ande was awesome to book with over the phone and she gave great information when I had questions. Jason was super helpful at the campground and provided great tips and insights on some awesome local eateries. I loved that the bathhouse had several all in one bathrooms, each with their own shower, toilet and sink and they were so clean and warm as it was very cold outside during our stay. The campground was beautiful and so quiet. Our view from our Premium RV site was breathtaking and we cannot wait to go back.
