This is a great day-use park. Nice picnic area & well maintained hiking trails. The playground is really nice for the kids. November thru April/early May the few RV spots are filled with park hosts. There is no primitive camping. There is talk of additional RV camping sites sometime in the next couple of years.

I drove up there to check out the campground and was so shocked at what little they have for camping. I thought it would be as fabulous as the other Maricopa parks I've stayed in for several days. Very disappointed and there's only 5 or 6 camp spots and they are side by side to one another. There are lots of day use spaces, and it looks like a lot of new sidewalks and tables with awnings.

This place is depressing. No one is cleaning up anything here. Rusty old metal table, view of big gravel lot, boxes piled by dumpster, rotting pumpkins on fire ring. Read the refund policy carefully; no refunds just because facilities are lousy. This was supposed to be new sites, but it's an old dump of a campground.

We live ten minutes up the road and finally decided to stop over here to hike. $7 to enter but definitely worth the cost. The picnic areas, bathroom, and trails were all clean. Incredible views at the top of the mountains. Variety of different trails ranging from easy to a little more difficult. Some trails are kid friendly and animal friendly. We did three different trails and spent 2 hours here.
