Camping Area 6

Brewster, MA 02631, USA

Introduce

Nestled in the picturesque town of Brewster, MA, Camping Area 6 is a hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts and families seeking a memorable camping experience. Located within a sprawling park, this campground offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, modern amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere.

The environment at Camping Area 6 is nothing short of breathtaking. Surrounded by lush greenery, serene ponds, and well-marked trails, it’s an ideal spot for hiking, stargazing, and reconnecting with nature. The campground is particularly family-friendly, with clear paths leading to nearby beaches like Cliff and Little Cliff, though be prepared for a bit of a workout on the return hike.

One of the standout features of Camping Area 6 is its excellent facilities. The showers are notably cleaner and more comfortable than those at many other campgrounds, and the multiple scullery sinks and water spigots make dishwashing and water access convenient. For those who enjoy a bit of foraging, Site 19 boasts a massive wall of wineberries—a delightful surprise for visitors.

While the sites are close together, making it great for group gatherings like family reunions, some campers may prefer a more secluded area for added privacy. Overflow parking is available and doubles as a fantastic spot for stargazing, despite the nearby shower lights. Though moths and barking dogs can be a minor inconvenience, they don’t detract from the overall experience.

Here’s what some of our happy campers have to say:

  • "Great spot in a huge park! Showers were much nicer than most places. I personally had a great time!"
  • "Overall, great area for kids. Love the area, but will probably go for a more secluded area next year."
  • "Area 6 overflow parking is great for stargazing. Multiple scullery sinks and water spigots make camping hassle-free."

Whether you’re planning a family vacation, a reunion, or a solo retreat, Camping Area 6 offers something for everyone. Pack your gear and get ready to create lasting memories in this beautiful corner of Brewster, MA.

Great spot in a huge park! Showers were much nicer than most places (campgrounds). I personally had a great time! Photos are of one of the ponds inside the park.

I've camped in area 6 probably 25+ of my 32 summers there, but this year was not great. Dogs barking at all hours, setting other dogs off, etc. Sites are close together and plentiful, which can feel like they're lacking privacy, but it's great for having multiple sites for family reunions and such. Clear, well-marker paths to beaches on both Cliff and Little Cliff, though the hike back up the hills makes the trip seems less refreshing. Area 6 overflow parking is great for stargazing, despite the lights from the showers next door. Multiple scullery sinks for washing dishes, many water spigots, and a site (19) that has a massive wall of wineberries! Moths were a bit annoying, but not as bad as last year's crop. Overall, great area for kids. Love the area, but will probably go for a more secluded area (7?) next year. For reference, I had my site for two weeks, starting July 14, 2022.

Nickerson State Park campgrounds is located in Brewster, Ma on Cape Cod. It is one of the few state campgrounds on the Cape. We've stayed in Area 6 a couple of times and have enjoyed hiking around ,Little Cliff Pond and Cliff Pond. We haven't yet taken our kayak with us while camping, but plan to do so in the future. Flax Pond is also close by where you can rent a canoe or kayak to use there.

Nice size sights a little tricky to back a 35 foot camper in .The store is cash only .dish washing stations are at the shower building.
