Camping World RV Sales

I recently purchased a Big Dawg Class C, some say Super C, from Camping World In Akron. I worked with Charlie on the sales side. I live in Phoenix and had two trade-ins just to add in some extra layers of complexity. With a little back and forth, we agreed on a purchase price and trade-in amounts. Still being a little skeptical having to drive 2000 miles for the swap, I went for it. When I showed up, the truck was in the front getting prepped. I did the inspections with Bill and had no issues; test drive was also smooth. They let me take my time (hours) loading it up with all the gear I brought (a lot) and test it further. After I was done, they took my trade-ins for inspection with no issues. Now time to sign my life away… My finance guy, Jim, went through everything, gave his thoughts, answered my questions, and I made my choices. Never felt pressured or rushed. Additionally, I was/am looking into an upgraded solar and battery system, and Holly took a lot of time pulling quotes, walking through various configurations with pros and cons, and giving a lot of insight knowing I likely wouldnt do it there because of timing around parts (would love to have had them do the upgrade if I didnt live 2000 miles away). Really just an overall solid experience. Cheers team.

Well first off I have never written a negative review like this one. I called and spoke to Charles the sales manager and he gave me good information about the camper that I acquired so I was just going to have him send me some numbers on a newer camper I was inquiring about and he said we'll get you that email so you can look it over. I was getting close to the end of the day and I was anxious to see what the prices and see what it takes to get a newer model camper I text the gentleman that put me in contact with his manager which is the sales manager and he said that everybody's so busy and he should send me an email before the end of the day well nothing happened so I guess they are too busy to deal with potential customers with their first time purchasing of a camper. Which I don't get is they're never too busy to send you emails and text message on coming out there to look at them but they're too busy to email you information about one sorry for the negativity I hope everybody has a wonderful afternoon and enjoy this nice weather that's coming soon.

This is a 1-2 star rating, but believe in not punishing the good employees, because there were a couple. My NEW 2024 travel trailer RV came with a lot of Dealer induced problems, that mindblowingly could and should have been fixed before I bought it, and / or certainly during the month they had to "prep" it before I picked it up. You blew it - could have been 4-5stars. Prep & pickup - 1 star. --To be called "young lady" like "little girl" over and over, and over, is inappropriate, especially when justified by, "because I didn't bother to look at your name". Do many people need a tour of all the programs on the different TV channels? Tech fumbled through the various controllers, as if you're learning, while repeatedly explaining how excellent he was? --The bubble in the wall paper could have easily been properly fixed; it's now a big ugly rippled crease, because Bill carelessly rubbed it in all different directions. I noted it the day I bought it, and by email before I picked it up. It wasnt corrected, in fact made worse. --1.5hrs (!) of maintenance, AFTER my pickup walkthrough... to plug in the couch cord (!) is inexcusable. When I checked on its status, the tech crew was reportedly "just sitting back there". -- The right rear jack was literally incomplete. The jack screw didnt even touch the motor - a 3-inch gap. Why do you think it didnt extend electronically? What was prepped? Why did you need me to be there, packed up for a trip, in person, to ORDER the part?! After waiting 1.5hrs to plug in the couch (heat /vibes), I was told I'd have to return to Akron to have it replaced - that's BS. The new RV is 12months post-manufacture date - that means Camping World Akron had a year to fix it, but didnt bother. That's lazy and / or sneaky. Sounds like the tech team needs more oversight and new management. Specifically, prep / pick up lost my repeat business. It started off great..., and not in a "gotcha" kind of way: 5-stars to Erin (appt setter) for some over-the-phone assistance and reassurance that all sales agents were not arrogant like the one I encountered east of Pittsburgh, PA. And offered a few helpful tips when shopping online. 5-stars to salesman Aaron M for his patience, knowledge, and advice. I had 3 pages of questions to make sure I understood what I was getting into, to which he very knowledably explained all the in depth features and functions. I'm kind of surprised that those questions were suggested to normally be covered at pick up; I guess that means most people buy based on looks, then figure out what they got, after they bought it... or that's the order Camping World chooses to do it. Odd. Aaron spent a lot of time showing me the RVs I wanted to see, making a couple suggestions with similar parameters, and also showed me a step up and a step down to make sure I was in the right category. 5-stars to Cody who installed, demonstrated, and let me try the weight distribution / sway bar hitch and elec break... with sound advice. Thank you Keith for coming down to my location to replace the jack that should have been done before I picked it up, for switching the power tongue/jack controller so that Left controlled Left, and Right : Right (compared to the 1star tech who at pick up did a horrible job covering up his surprise, paused, shrugged, and said that's how some are done. The Manuf. confirmed otherwise). - I'm sorry you did not get to see any of the pictures I sent ahead of time, that would have better informed you about the jack situation and the missing part of the key-alike lock which the Parts dept told me they understood but CLEARLY had no clue. Parts / Service how bout informing your techs better? While there were some good / helpful people, I'm shocked at how bad the rest was. When an RV is purchased, it should not drive off the lot with 3 of 4 jacks, missing lock parts, or have after-the-sale "hard sell" sales for "oh yeah, ALL the stuff you need to make it functional" at pick up. That is disgusting. For the good (bringing the #stars up), Camping World Akron is sour.

Pick up my new camper day was a success. The walk thru was great. George Nava did an excellent job orienting me to my new camper. My salesman, Zach, was also great, helpful, and kept me updated throughout the day. The day was long but everyone from sales, to finance, to service, were pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful.

I encourage folks to do some research on Camping World before going. There are so many complaints online about this company, and we can see why now. Wish we would have done some homework. Their program to buy campers is a complete joke. They had our camper for an entire week before they even looked at it. We contacted him everyday while it was there to see what was going on. Communication was non-existent if we didn't follow up. He then came back and gave the usual BS to under cut the quote to the point it's funny. For the price they told us, they would turn around and sell for $10k more. Do your research so they don't waste your time and steal your money.
