Campsite C - Sand Hollow Introduce
Welcome to Campsite C - Sand Hollow, located on Horse Run Rd, Cumberland, OH 43732. As part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, we offer a primitive camping experience for those seeking a tranquil outdoor adventure.
Campsite C - Sand Hollow provides a peaceful environment, ideal for those who enjoy getting unplugged from modern distractions. Please be aware that there is no cell service available in the area, contributing to the serene atmosphere.
The campground offers a 2.6-mile hiking trail that circumnavigates the lake. The trail is considered moderate to difficult at times but is well-maintained and offers scenic views of the lake. There are also restrooms, a picnic area, and a ramp for boats, kayaks, and other watercraft.
This is a primitive camping site, meaning there are no water sources available. Campers should come prepared with all necessary supplies. While there may be other campers present, the area generally maintains a peaceful ambiance.
Recent reviews indicate some confusion regarding the "self-registration kiosk," which may be difficult to locate. It's also noted that the phone number listed on the website and welcome sign is not currently reliable, as the site is no longer regulated by the park associated with that number. Campsites are now numbered, which is a recent change. The site we believe was 47 or 48 was enjoyed by recent campers.
For navigation, it is recommended to print maps from the website, as they are accurate for finding the location. In case of full occupancy, AEP Rec Land camp slot A (Hook Lake) is located nearby as an alternative.
Campsite C - Sand Hollow is ideal for groups and individuals looking for a quiet, primitive camping experience with access to hiking and lake activities.

Customer Reviews
I hiked the trail that goes completely around the lake. 2.6 miles, and the trail is moderate to difficult at times. The trail is well maintained, and there are some great views of the lake. There are restrooms, a picnic area, and a ramp for boats, kayaks, etc.
My husband and I went camping here for the first time last week. We are primitive campers and did not mind at all that there was no water sources available. When we went there seemed to be quite a few others camping but other than the occasional car driving past it was still very peaceful and everyone we encountered was very nice. We were a bit confused by the "self registration Kiosk" that we were supposed to sign in to but could not locate anywhere. Be advised there is NO cell service but I mean isn't that the point to get out and get unplugged! Over all very lovely area and we plan on going back. Would be great for groups. Print maps ( the ones from the website work just great) we had no trouble finding it. Also as of right now the phone number on the website to contact for questions ( which is also the number on the welcome sign) is not really accurate as that park no longer regulated the site so they are not really helpful... The sites now seemed to be numbered as well. Another camper said that was new this year. Not sure if they will be implementing a new registration process or not. We stayed at what we think was either site 47 or 48. The other bonus is if you get there and they are full they are just a short drive from the AEP Rec Land camp slot A ( Hook Lake)
Nice out of way campgrounds pack out what ou pack in! Cposes dec 21 reopens apr 1
This is one of our favorite spots to camp it's super primitive no electricity no water no cell service just what we want when we're needing time away I have yet to meet the camp host but park seems clean like always except since it went to dumpsters being emptied once a week they seem to overflow I do miss aep picking up trash daily I love that the spots are not right on top of one and other pic I included was right at the entrance kids always look for the geese
Privacy at almost every site. Some pull offs have 2 or more sites, but most are 1. Quiet and peaceful.
