This site is fantastic for researching campgrounds and individual campsites. I like to use Google Earth to locate campgrounds and then compare them with CampsitePhotos to see each individual site. This helps me choose sites with features I prefer, like tree shade or seclusion. CampsitePhotos is a great tool for campsite selection, especially when reservations are required.
I love that you provide actual photos of campsites instead of relying on website campsite maps. Please consider adding John Martin Reservoir State Park of Colorado to your list.
I was hoping to see what the campsites looked like before booking, but there's often only one photo available. Some National Parks post multiple photos, making this site less helpful. Also, the site scan notifications are delayed, sometimes by days, after availability. By then, the sites are usually gone. I made my reservations directly on the day of release and then requested a scan refund, but I received no follow-up or refund. I would not recommend paying for scans.
I've learned to rely on this website after booking campsites online (Reserve A., state parks, etc.) and then finding much better sites available. You can easily see the size and terrain of the site, which is very helpful, especially when planning to camp with 2 people or a group of 6. The website is easy to navigate and includes details about the campground with high-resolution photos for a better view of the actual sites. Highly recommend it to any avid camper!
This is a great site for visualizing your campsite. We use it to ensure our fifth wheel will fit, especially to check for tight trees or posts near the entryway. They keep adding campgrounds every year, so chances are you'll find your campground in their inventory.
