Went with the family to this campground for the night and was pleasantly surprised. The spots were spacious and clean. They have an outhouse the was well maintained but had no running water. The river is close by, but it runs a bit fast so getting in the water in most areas is probably not advised, though there are a few areas you can. Possibly good fishing areas but I’m no fisherman. There is gravel road for a ways before you get to the campground so prepare for that. For being gravel road it is well maintained and wasn’t tough to get through. I would advise reserving a spot instead of just going out there to see if ones available. Great area overall, beautiful place to visit, and I would go back again. I didn’t plan on making this review so the pictures don’t fully display the appeal of the place, but here we are.

We absolutely loved this spot. Campsites are well spaced, giving you plenty of privacy especially with the rushing river adding white noise. Sites are quite dusty and there is not much access to the creek due to heavy vegetation. No bugs to speak of, plenty of sneaky ground squirrels though. Metolius River Trail starts at the beginning of the campground and is an easy mile and a half to the lower bridge. Last 2 miles of very bumpy gravel road, passable with our minivan but not fast going. Note... Do not follow Google Maps directions. They will try to take you down an unmaintained forest service road to a spot *across* the river from the campground. There is no way across the river here. Take the forest service directions.

Beautiful and quiet but Very remote and difficult to access road in wet weather. Little underbrush for privacy, but lots of space between sites and few people around. Table and pit toilet but no water. Closes mid September. Sits on edges of candle creek and Metolius. Bring maps, no cell service.

Excellent campground with nice clear, open sites but still screened from neighboring sites with vegetation. We visited at the beginning of October and there were no bugs to be seen. The sound from the river is super relaxing and pleasant. Beautiful with fall colors in October!

Great place for camping. Metolius River on one side and Candle creek on the other. Rather dusty so bring baby wipes. Campground spots are HUGE plenty of room for 2-3 vehicles. Nice picnic tables and fire rings at each site. Campground and vault toilet are well maintained. One of the nicer tent campgrounds I've been to. Get there early you make sure you get a spot. Well worth it.
