We been to this site almost every yr now. There are paved trails so kids can bring their wheeled toys then we dip into the creek to cool down. Be careful of those tiny wasps, they seem to be everywhere around campsite specially.
Quite peaceful quaint nice spacing in between the camp sites. Just so u know there's only one way in and one way out both same road lol. It's a bit of a bumpy rough sketchy. Small one vehicle at a time drive in and out. Very dark at night no reflectors or guidance getting to and from the camp site, so if your like me and my 2 friends u could easily get lost. Sort of by thinking u went the wrong way or missed it somehow especially with no Cell service getting anywhere near there so no assistance with Good Ole Google Maps, but once u get safely into the camp site it's very cozy fresh and just relaxing. Be advised there are only about 6 or 7 regular spots for camping and the one in the very back is a much bigger space enough for at least 3 or so nice size tents. Also for some reason they have chopped down so many many tress trees throughout the site that its very difficult to walk through the forest and paths aligning the connecting creeks and has blocked so much of the water flow as well as being able to explore on the whole left side of the campsite. So far it was relaxing and the peace was blissful, but wish I would have had a better experience getting in and out of the campsite and someone really needs to clear up some dead tree's so we can explore nature and it be enjoyable as it was intended to be. Well TY for reading best of travels ..Enjoy ur visit!! Hope it was helpful
Canon Creek campground gets 5 stars. However, the two metal bench securing posts that are by the walking bridge are extremely unsafe. We need to add a new bench and fix this hazard. Although Canon Creek is accessible... it would be nice if the area by the Canon creek trail 33 sign was paved to the street. We could not get the wheel chair onto the the trail from by the sign because of the gravel. Other than that it is an excellent location to spend time at. :)
We stopped for a bathroom break but it's a really nice spot. Campsites are well spread out and large. There's a trail along the stream.
Great campground close to town and the forest
