Handful of decent campsites outfitted with picnic tables and fire ring as well as two bathrooms. Virtually zero access to water as the shoreline there is extremely steep and rocky. There is a boat launch that provides some access but it's limited. I would recommend this place to maybe some older folks or to someone with a boat or anyone who doesn't want access to the water. Will not be returning for the fact that the access non existent.

June 2019. Free. Fishing is limited from shore. Excellent from boat. Gorgeous views, quiet. Off the beaten path and 20 minutes from Orofino

Great boondocking spot. The campground is much bigger than you think at first. Keep driving past the initial 5-7 sites and you will find many more, many of them larger. All sites are mostly flat and shaded. Some are on the river and you can enjoy the sounds of water as you fall asleep. We have a 38 foot fifth wheel and easily found a comfortable place for us.

I grew up around this campground and come back whenever I possibly can! Serene, clean, spacious, wildlife abounds and the lake is really always wonderful with the boat launch and free camping! What else can you ask for? Vaulted toilets, YES! Pack in and pack out your garbage, no water for drinking or showers. Plenty of hiking trails too!

No fee, no reservation campground with around 15 sites, all with a table, fire pit, and beautiful view of the reservoir. Gravel access road is steep, winding, and a little rough down the last stretch but had no trouble in a sedan. Vault toilets very clean in early summer 2025. Didn’t notice any water pumps (I brought my own water). Firewood bundles available on the way in at 46.5201, -116.2120. Beautiful and quiet spot, plenty of sites to choose from even on Memorial Day Weekend. Would love to camp here again.
