Have been renting their Canyon Creek Resort Cabin C14 for the past four years. Ever since I bought in I was told the cabins were going to be redone. My visit June 27th to the 39th was Awful. The Key broke I. the lock, the air conditioner wouldn't stay cool nor on. Breaker had to be reset several times. All the other tenants were complaining as well. Temperatures were over 100 each day. Shower still leaks and toilet still doesn't flush well. Porches have spaces and need to be replaced. What are we paying monthly dues for?
Before I get into it, I will say the pool is nice and clean for the kids. This has to be the worst campsite I have been to. We did the free 2 night stay before sitting down about the membership. the sales people will 100% mislead you. I spoke with several members there who felt ripped off. They wanted 12,000 dollars for the “family package”. They tell you there’s an activities director who just happens to be off during your stay, the members tell me they’ve never seen one. The arcade is old and only 2/5 games work, the coin prizes are out and never restocked. The sites are all gravel and slide outs with within 5 feet of your neighbors. There’s zero maintenance. Sprinklers don’t come on, 30amp poles are falling over. Picnic tables and majority of the club house is covered in spider webs. The guy that comes to empty your Rv tanks was 2 hours late and hungover. They tell you they have sites with full hookups, you won’t get one unless you want to be right along the highway. The roads are one way and narrow, if you get there and people are in line to empty their tanks, be prepared to wait a long time before you can even get by. If someone is backing their trailer, be prepared to wait a long time because you’ll have to wait until they’re fully unhooked before you can get by due to the narrow lanes. The creek is nothing more than a visual pleasure. Current is very fast. If you do the 2 night stay, talk to the members before listening to the scam sales peoples.
Cabins are a bit small. However, most of then are close to the water 😊 The other campers are usually fantastic as well as staff. They always have some sort of event going on which are Super Fun with music & dancing. Over all, I would definitely try it out. I Promise you won't regret it.
Membership has its privileges. Booked a spot for our trailer with hookups as a guest. Upon arrival the gal at check in provided a map with highlighted spots, as non-members we could only select from those. There is gate access with code. The non-member spots were the middle area between the in and out one way roads. On one side was the highway, on the other creekside member spots. There is no trees, shade or grass in the non-member spots, just dry cut thistle. Definitely not what they advertise. On check in we asked if there was a late check out on Sunday available as we are playing in a baseball tournament and the times of the Sunday games are unknown. The gal said no and that it sounded like a personal problem. On Sunday the manager Val came by and informed us that the check out time was open, that the other gal was incorrect and apologized for her rudeness. Aside from the site being hot (so hot in late June) and dusty, the bathrooms and showers were very nice. The creek was beautiful, however the banks are covered in black berry bramble. The sites that are creekside actually have a walking path between the site and creek. The preferred area would be in the back on the other side of the hwy. You could definitely hear road noise at night. We didn't get to enjoy the pool as it is closed at 8 pm. The security woman is very kind and a Chicago Bears fan, if you are into football. They came by every night and morning to turn on and off the flood light for the road. This facility was on the more expensive side at $95 a night for only being able to select from the non-member sites and not enjoying the amenities advertised. It would be more appropriate to price adjust in my opinion. We did see a rattle snake, but maintenance dispatched it quickly. There is no cell service at all. They do offer wifi, however it does not connect. And does not get refunded. We paid $65 for wifi, and it always returned an error. Too many devices connected, we had 1. Service is not available. Or no connection. When we asked the gentleman at the store he just chuckled and said we are lucky if we can find a spot where the wifi will connect on the property.
We took advantage of a special 2 night offer and enjoyed this beautiful RV resort at a fantastic location. Staff Valerie, Brandon, and Lynn were very accommodating and friendly. We stayed in our trailer so I did not rate the rooms. Our site was right on the river and we saw several species of birds.. Thank you so much.
