We’ve been here 4 days. Toilet paper on floor same shredded as day one; appears bugs on counter haven’t been touched; husband had to wipe hundreds of live & dead bugs off toilet seat to use. I saw one cleaning lady with toilet cleaner once but no change in appearance of bathroom. My husband did see a man with a plunger go into the lady’s room. Soap is available but dryer is not working. If these are the things we can see, what are the germs piling up we can’t. Ugh. This has not been our experience at other Corp campgrounds. Also, leveling on the pads can be a big issue with the slope.
For 20$ entries fee could be kept up a little better. Restroom are like porta Jon’s but way dirtier. Other then that area around lake was decent, water shoes are a must with lots of rock to walk over heading to the shore of the lake.
BRING shoes... NO sandles in water gets full of rocks and can't walk. You do sink into the mud, not a good feeling. 20$ for car load not bad, beautiful scenery. It is a little walk to get to the water from where you park
Spectacular camp ground! Camping for $12 a night! Primitive tent camping, no pop-ups, or RV units allowed. Most sites are near the water. A few are on top of a hill with a great view of the lake. Over 8 miles of hiking trails. Park is full of deer, fox, squirrel, and other critters. Keep your distance and enjoy watching them. There is a swim beach near front of park. There are three large pavilions for renting at $75 a day each. Two are for overnight and one day use only.
Really good and largely rugged trails. Challenging for inexperienced mountain bikers. Lake access on some parts with great views from many higher elevations. There is a lot of shade along most of the trail to get relief from the sun. -1 star for some of the trail maps being outdated.
