Cape Charles / Chesapeake Bay KOA Resort

We were able to stay here for a couple of months. We enjoyed our time here. The staff was amazing and very helpful! We enjoyed the beach with calm waters also the restaurant bar that was by the beach. The grounds were kept very clean!!!! Also a fire ring was provided at each site, we could have firewood delivered to our site. We ordered pizza from the pizza/ice cream in the store, very good! Thank you for a wonderful safe stay!!

Our 2-night stay was ruined because they shut off the water the morning after our first night. They told us it would be turned back on in a "couple hours" or "few hours," depending on who you talked to. Then I found an email in my junk folder promising the water would be turned back on at 5:00 PM. It's 5:19--and still no water. More over, the email said the water would be shut off again at 9 AM when checkout is at 11 AM, which means we can't sleep in on vacation if we want to wash up in the morning. When I talked to Kathy at the front desk, she said no compensation to guests would be forthcoming because the water shut-off was unexpected. (When is water shut-off ever expected?) She would not tell me whether it was corporate or the franchisee whom I should contact. She would not give me the contact information for the franchisee, claiming she did not know it. She and the owner must understand that when people fork over their hard-earned money for what is advertised on their website--which includes running water--the KOA must either perform or be prepared to give customers some compensation when the promise is not delivered. Unlawful and unprofessional.

We stayed here August 2024. Sites were clean. The staff is awesome and takes good care of everything. There is a nice Pool that is great for all ages. It is on the bay. There is a sandy beach that has a section for dogs and a dog park. There is a restaurant one the beach also. Sunsets are awesome

One of the best possible places to have a relaxing family beach vacation. We get two cabins and stay in one with grandparents and the other. Kids run back and forth and have a little freedom and a great time. The beach is beautiful and well maintained. There is some seagrass that washes up, but it's really not a problem. The water is fairly shallow out from the shore, even during high tide, so it's really nice for little kids because they can play a bit more in the water without being too worried. The guy who rents kayaks and other stuff at the beach was really nice and knowledgeable about the area. The front desk could not have been more helpful. When the grandparents had difficulty with the air conditioning in their cabin, the staff showed up very quickly and fixed it. My only criticism is that their cabin smelled like very strong disinfectant for the entire time. That's probably a good thing, meaning that prior guest did something that required extra cleaning and they did the extra cleaning. But it was still a pretty strong and irritating odor. The restaurant on the beach was good and the service was excellent and friendly. I am so glad we discovered this place. We will be back next year!

Enjoyed the proximity to the beach. Bar and restaurant on the beach. pared roads, level spots, good spacing. Very well maintained. Property patrols frequently. Staff very helpful and friendly. For those with kids they have lots of planned activities. Dog area on beach. We honestly can't think of anything negative to say And will be back!
