Customer Reviews
This really is a resort. We just purchased here after searching at a few other campgrounds in this area. Everything about this place is top notch.. The bath houses and laundry are spotless and look brand new. The landscaping is impeccable, colorful and eye catching. The properties are not on top of each other. They’re well taken care of and decorated. The activity areas and pools are clean with plenty of seats. Every person from staff to neighbors are respectful and friendly, always saying hello with a smile. Honestly, the best part of the purchase experience was the property manager, Tyler, what a truly genuine nice guy. The combination of professionalism, customer attention and actually providing quick responses/solutions/action almost immediately is a RARITY in today’s world. As a business owner, I appreciate this. He’s part of the reason we chose here. Looking forward to many happy years here!
This place used to be the best kept secret in Cape May until new international management started their reign. Prices have skyrocketed & service - let's say they're no "Jimmy."
I just bought a place here last month. As a single mom I was immediately impressed with how safe I feel in this campground. The security guards and staff take their residents safety very seriously and I am very appreciative of that. Everyone I have spoken to/met in the office has been an absolute pleasure and patiently answered my many . . . many questions. The grounds are immaculate and the units are very well maintained. You can tell people take a lot of pride in their little piece of Cape May paradise. I love the convenience of garbage pick-up twice a day. This resort is a five minute drive to anything you could possibly need. And within ten minutes you can be at a number of different beaches or bays. I am excited to meet my neighbors and participate in family activities with my 9 year old daughter. Can't wait for next season!
Cape Island Resort is a park model community where residents can stay for 6 months. The park opens on April 1st and closes on Nov 1st. The address is 709 Route 9, Cape May. The resort has 2 large pools and one small pool for the babies & toddlers. There is a snack bar and sometimes a food truck. There are pickleball & basketball courts, a ball field, a horse shoe pit, playground areas, and planned activities for the kiddos. The office is open from 9AM to 5 PM daily if you need to register guests, get your propane tanks refilled, or have any questions or concerns. After 5 PM, there are security guards on duty that patrol the resort. There is trash pick up multiple times a day. The laundry facilities and bath houses are newly renovated. There is also a new adult only lounge if you are over 21 and would like to have a glass of wine with friends. The resort is pet friendly. The resort is very close to the beachs, the happening area in Cape May with all its restaurants and shopping areas. You can visit the Cape May Lighthouse or Sunset Beach for a flag ceremony, get a beer or glass of wine at one of the areas many wineries or breweries. Or if you prefer you can go antique shopping at one of the many antique stores. There is a new complex open where you can catch the latest movies, go bowling, play arcade games and get something to eat or drink. There is so much to do. Being in Cape Island Resort means you are close to everything that is happening. It's a great place to be.
We bought our place last summer. Couldn’t be happier with that decision. We love Cape Island Resort & Cape May. Great location! Minutes from anything you need, including the beach. The resort is beautiful & well kept. Looking forward to many years to come.
We’re in our 9th season at Cape Island Resort—and it’s truly become our home away from home. We started here as a newly married couple with an RV and now have two young kids, a Yorkie, and a park model we absolutely love. After comparing all the local parks, we chose CIR because it’s quieter, cleaner, and doesn’t allow transients or golf carts—just a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere that’s hard to beat. The management team is fantastic and has made some great improvements over the years—remodeled bath houses with free showers, new pickleball and basketball courts, two pools, a snack bar, and a full calendar of summer events thanks to their activities director. Our favorite? The CIR Winery & Brewery Bus Tour—always a blast! There’s also a general office with a mailroom, lending library, and free computer/printer access for residents. Cape Island Resort is in the perfect location—just 10 minutes from historic Cape May, 15 minutes from the Wildwood boardwalk, and only 7 minutes from all the shopping and conveniences in Rio Grande. Whether you’re headed to the beach, out to dinner, or running errands, everything is just a quick drive (or bike ride) away. The bike path right across the street is a huge perk—it connects you to everything. Historic Cold Spring Village is directly across the street, with family-friendly events every weekend. If you enjoy adult beverages, there are three breweries, three wineries, and a distillery all within biking distance. We’ve even convinced our parents to join the fun—they loved it so much, they bought a place here too. Cape Island Resort has become a generational tradition for our family, and we couldn’t imagine spending our summers anywhere else.
