I love that campsite!!!! I was on the roadtrip with my dogs and stopped here without booking in advance (state park website for reservations). Such a cosy place, all campsites feel private, the place gets really quiet during the night, you can even hear waves crushing in the distance. The beach is a step away (through dunes). Bathrooms are clean and organized, showers are comfortable. I will absolutely come back here. 🐶friendly!

I love this campground. Great beach access and facilities are kept up on. Staying in a yurt is such an accessible way to get out of town for a bit.

Cape Lookout State Park: Beautiful, but… During our road trip to National and state parks, we chose to stay at Cape Lookout after hearing rave reviews. The park itself is stunning—I adore the Oregon coast. The days we spent there were perfect, with fog and coastal mist enveloping the landscape, and the ocean displaying its turbulent beauty. However, the campgrounds are a mixed bag. Some areas lack privacy, with wide-open spaces. Towards the back of the campground, though, I found more secluded spots. Be cautious, though—certain sites have trails running alongside them, which I felt intruded upon campers’ privacy. The bathroom experience was a bit of a downer. Whenever I visited, it seemed like the other campers were a little annoyed because the trail went next, almost through their campsite. But on the bright side, I lucked out with a nice site, and the bathrooms were clean. The showers worked well and provided hot water. Overall, my stay met my expectations, despite the minor inconveniences. Cape Lookout State Park remains a beautiful destination for nature lovers like us!

One of the best campgrounds in Oregon with direct beach access. You can hear ocean sounds anywhere at the campground and in a way it acts as white noise during nights. Clean bathrooms. Best thing about this Showers with hot water. What else do you need. Definitely book way ahead for summer weekends. I love D loop spots since it’s provides partial sunny partial shade area

My family and I have gone to this campsite three times now. And always enjoy our time. I recommend the D. Sites for there is plenty of bushes to give your experience a little privacy. The park holds several shower houses and even more bathrooms. Well kept grounds. And a very kind staff. The beach has no shade, so bring some shade with you so you don't burn like I did this last visit.

We secured campsite B21 for $25 to access shower facilities. The site exceeded expectations. While the beach lacked distinctive features, its tranquil atmosphere was a significant benefit. Camp hosts Chris and Sue provided exceptional service, delivering firewood for $7 per bundle.

Absolutely loved it here, the waves can be heard throughout the campground, plenty of stars. Ice and wood for sale. There are only two first come first served spots so a reservation is recommended although you'll pay an extra fee, be sure the reservationist gets your days correct ours didn't but it worked out. Not the campgrounds fault. Pets ok. Tent, RV, and Yurts are available. Yurts surprisingly affordable. Beach within a very easy walk.

Wouldn't go back. The campsites are on top of each other, with no privacy. One campsite to every side of you. It's just awkward and doesn't feel like real camping. It's basically a parking lot you put tents at. You might get unlucky and book a campsite next to the sink water disposal that smells like human waste. & the hike at the campsite is closed down no trees to roam around in within walking distance only the beach which felt small with not much to explore on it. I read reviews about the raccoons destroying tents so we made sure to be mindful of leaving food outside of the car
