I have been camping here for the past 30 years! It never gets old!
The Capps Crossing Campground is at an excellent location for groups and families. Older children can explore the campground and the nearby 'river' and be within eye/earshot the whole time. Campsites are very well maintained.
Reserve a year in advance. This is an excellent location! Flat, open, family friendly and hands down the best camping spot in Northern California.
It was cold and miserable. My family argued the entire time we were there and it started snowing. IN THE MIDDLE OF MARCH mind you. I sat in the car while my family looked for crystals for 4 hours and then we got lost in the middle of the forest.
The hosts were friendly and welcoming. They offered assistance and explained local terrain. They even gave us free firewood!
