I liked this spot, but do keep in mind that the camp ground runs right along the road through the mountain. You will hear vehicles roaring through occasionally so if you are a light sleeper, this might not be your place, so make sure you lock in your reservations for other locations around Eagles Nest before the weekend.

Very close to the highway with camp sites very close together. Had headlights and road noise all night. We had to be very careful walking the dogs the road was so close. The creek was flowing slowly and made for a very buggy night. It sounded like raindrops on our tent...but was really just bugs. There was lots of garbage around the site and I cleaned up dirty diapers and booze cans. Pros: Our fellow campers were friendly and quiet.

THIS WAS A HIDDEN GEM!! IT WAS ONLY $6.00 FOR A LOVELY TREE LINED SITE. IT SAT RIGHT NEXT TO A SPARKLING FLOWING CREEK. THERE ARE 11 SITES AND ONLY 3 WERE TAKEN WHEN WE GOT THERE. WE FELT SAFE ALL NIGHT AND WOULD'VE STAYED LONGER IF WE DIDN'T HAVE OTHER PLANS. ITS ONLY 6 MILES EAST OF TAOS ON THE ROAD THAT GOES TO ANGEL FIRE. THIS WAS DEFINITELY ONE OF THE NICEST CAMPING SIRES WE HAVE EVER HAD. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
