Beautiful central CA beach campground. Absolutely epic location. Carpinteria is a classic, quaint, clean and super vibey community. Just make sure to put your food away at night … the raccoon pack is legit!

Location is great. Place is lame. Camp hosts are uptight. Reserved a spot for three night after the first night came back to see our spot taken by other people. We picked a close by spot as there were plenty and got a knock and told to drive all the way out to check back in and get a new spot after we set up. Fire pit full of trash. Costs ten bucks to have a friend come visit. Plenty of better options around.

Baby oil and wipes to easily remove tar from your skin. Best place to park if your a glamper. Reservations MUST BE made 6 months in advance. Place is at capacity yr round unless u don't need hookups. Beautiful views and sunsets. Great food on Linden Ave of carpinteria. Lock up your bikes, homeless stole my mt bike. My choice for camping in so Cal beaches.

Our favorite beach to camp at. Susan, the park ranger was very helpful when we asked about changing spots for our second night and waived the extra fee.❤️

We camp at Carpinteria State Beach at least once or twice a year, and it never disappoints. There are plenty of campsite options whether you’re in a tent, RV, or camping with a big group, there’s definitely something for everyone. The only catch is that it books up months in advance, so planning ahead is a must. But don’t worry, they’re open year-round, so there are lots of chances to enjoy everything these beautiful grounds have to offer. The beach itself is stunning, and there are some gorgeous trails nearby. While you’re there, I highly recommend checking out the Carpinteria Seal Sanctuary the seals are adorable, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. One of the things I really appreciate about this campground is how clean and well-maintained the bathrooms and showers are. The showers run on tokens and have hot water, which is such a nice touch especially after a long day outside. I love that we have this option because, as every camper knows, things can get dirty fast! We usually don’t bring much food and instead support the local restaurants in town. It’s only a short five-minute walk, and there are plenty of great spots to eat. The locals are always super friendly and helpful, which adds to the charm of this place. We truly love this beautiful town and campground. If you’re an avid camper or just someone looking for a peaceful beachside getaway, definitely check this place out. Tip: They’re pretty strict about extra vehicles. If you’re arriving with more than one, make sure the main person who made the reservation checks in first. Everyone else should follow afterward to avoid any issues at the entrance.

I have been camping here since forever. The camp sites are nice but you need to make reservations well in advance. The ride pools are amazing at low tide. Some good easy beach diving if you know where to go in at. The showers are pay for hot water.

Not bad for being in the middle of town, had a decent number of camping spots, I was with a school of fourth graders, and being located right next to the beach the kids got to learn about the water cycle, the tar that bubbles up , the coastal wildlife all in one trip. The rangers were all polite and we really appreciated all that helped out with this trip!

Nice campground which accommodates all shapes and sized rigs. If you don't go for the hookups and/or are self contained, the rates are not too bad. Shaped like a long parking lot, next to the beach with ample spots for car and rig. Hot showers for a minimum surplus, clean spots, dump station. Better call to see if there are vacancies, because the website is useless and reserve on line doesn't give the real low down on what's available.

Parking is a short distance from the beach. The walk is absolutely beautiful. The beach sand is one of the softest and the cleanliness of the beach is amazing considering how many people with family of even young kids on spring break that there were. Everyone seemed very respectful of each other's space and peace. Would recommend this to families, couples/friend or even singles who just want to spend some time with self!
