Colorado has some of the most amazing parks and one is at the top of my list, It has it all! Great trails , camp ground is unique in that each spot although close to one another are more private with the terrain and landscaping each one has its own unique views! From the mountains to the lake you can't help but be in awe. The amenities are endless . There is also boat ramp for water access and don't forget to see Danielle at the visitor center who will check you into your campsite but also answer all of your questions and can give insights and tips about the park and suggestions to enhance your stay. She's really great! One unique feature I love is that

Lower sites on south side were great for tent camping. Quiet. And we saw a buck and a doe. Lake looks like fun for boats etc but not sure I'd swim in it. Loved the shade over picnic table. Great views.

Beautiful views. The angle of the site with a drop off/ditch made it interesting to back into. No sewer or water at the site we were in but the bath house was nearby and there are multiple water spigots throughout park to fill up fresh water tank if needed. The camp worker was very nice and the park rangers drove through several times a day.

Enjoyed our stay however I thought it was pretty pricy at $35 plus an additional $9 to enter the park for an electric only site. There is water throughout the campground but not at your site unless you get full hookups. The showers take quarters and aren’t very clean. Floors not swept or mopped, toilet filthy… the site itself was really nice, beautiful scenery, but definitely over priced in my opinion, especially compared to other places I’ve stayed.

This was a good camping area. Water spigots are close. Each campsite has a fire ring with grill, picnic table, and awning for shade. The only drawbacks are No privacy and if you get a campsite on the north end it is far from the two porta-potties.
