I stayed one night along with a friend. We took the Cascade Cave tour on the first day. It is a beautiful cave.. it's a short tour but worth the $12. Hayden was a great guide. The lodge was average. The heat didn't seem to work well in our room, but the rooms were clean and reasonable for the price. We didn't check out the restaurant, but the food smelled good.
New year, new adventures! Carters Caves is such a cool place to hike and explore! So many neat natural bridges, huge rock walls, box canyons, boulders, caves. We did about 4 trails and 7 miles. We will be back! The visitor center is nice and has clean, heated bathrooms. They have free permits available for the caves that are open. Plenty of parking. The attendants in the visitor center were very helpful and knowledgeable.
Absolutely stunning place to go caving! Crawling, yes I mean crawling on all fours or belly sliding as some prefer was a fantastic treat to a full body workout. Getting permits was pretty easy and the rangers were very informative.
We stopped in to tour a cave and the only one open was x cave. It is the smallest cave in the park but the tour was so much fun. We even got to "hang out" with some bats in the cave! The tour guide was so knowledgeable and answered a TON of questions. Great gift shop too!
Great place for a get away. Great hiking!! Had a blast exploring caves. Lots of bats since it's the start of their hibernation time. Restaurant is great but highly recommend going to Burger Barn in town. Relaxing time for my husband and I to have a anniversary trip.
