The roads in the Eagle campground are some of the worse we've experienced in our 20+ years of camping together. The bath house is cleaned, but not maintained. The women's shower ate 2 tokens with no water. They charge $15 to dump, even if you pay to camp. We found that to be a bit excessive with the fees. On the positive side... The views of the lake are spectacular. Each site has a nice fire ring w/grate and a large picnic table. There are quite a few pull-through sites. Views of the stars at night are incredible. Wild turkeys and deer roamed through our site nearly every day.

We stayed in Eagle campground E48 this past weekend. we came in late and there where no signs to direct the way. we pulled into site 21 within the trees. It over looked the lake and was beautiful. The next morning we found our spot at the end of the loop, `is where we reserved by looks of the map we should of had a corner of the lake as our view. what we found at Eagle 48 was a backyard of the neighborhood across the way. we also has a vet=ry close up view of the rocky dam road as well as each car that passed all night long. No lake view, no trash cans, very very unmaintained road to get to site. Stay out of eagle campground unless you want the backside of the neighborhood and dam view. Also 15$ dump fee , first time I have paid extra to dump. Lovely lake, big lesson in campground maps.

Bumpy gravel road, but the sites are nice, and the scenery is pretty. There has been a herd of deer that have been bedding down on the edge of the campground each evening.

Ok campground, good location Sites aren’t level, very tight squeeze through the trees for larger RVs. No one was there to check us in, give a map, etc when we got there at 3pm but then a park ranger knocked on our door around 9pm to check us in. Showers require tokens, $1=1 token, 3 tokens=6 minutes. Note: sign says 2 tokens gets you 6 min but the shower would not start until we put in 3 tokens! And if you only have $5 bill to give to the machine, then you’re stuck with 2 left over tokens (we just paid it forward) and just lost your money. Pretty pricey if you ask me! I’ve been to CO campgrounds where $1.25 gets you five minutes. No dump station at the campground, but you have to go all the way to the south entrance station to dump and there’s a water fill up point there’s as well. Overall very inconvenient camping experience but the lake view is nice and it’s somewhat close to RMNP and Estes park.

Let me start with the good. The campground had wildlife coming right through the sites in the mornings and evenings. The campground is on a nice reservoir. The bathrooms were clean. The showers were clean but there were a couple issues while we were there. The showers operate by tokens, $1 each/2 min for 6 min. One womens shower didn't come on, another gave half the minutes, a mens shower was missing a handle, and one day the token machine was not working or empty, without signage to say. One of the men's showers were not working but no signage. The campground was clean and pretty quiet. We fulltime RV around the country and this campground had some of the worst roads and washouts I have ever seen. There has been NO maintenance for years on this place. The parking lots were just as horrible. There is a pile of gravel on premises and a tractor at the office but nobody to do the work. I hit my sewage dump valve twice on the deep ruts. I was told that the county's priority is making a larger swim beach and large parking area. Looked like the campground, which provides county revenue has been put to the bottom of the list. The camp host was nice but I could tell he was frustrated with the lack of support from the county too. To fill water tanks on camper was another very difficult task as 2 of the hose bibs were extremely difficult to access without damage to your rig and the other was on a parking lot that is hard to get at unless you ignore the signage about no trailer turn around which was inaccurate. If the county spent some time on the roads and sites repairing the washed out roads and sites I would recommend this place but not until that is done. Verizon service was 0 at the low end of the hill and 1 bar at the upper end.
