The best thing is the quiet! Aside from a faint train in the distance. Great for CAR camping, there’s warm showers available. Good water pressure. Men and women both have two showers. One handicapped accessible and the other regular smaller. The women’s restroom did need a replenishment of toilet paper but other than that it was great. Outlet outside of the restrooms available by the bike rack. There was grills too. Great area to star gaze if you have the right stuff, night vision/telescope/binoculars. The forest service roads were great, especially while using a two wheel drive Sadan. Saw some wild turkeys flying, lily pads, fluffy trees , vast clearings and dense woods. Everyone is respectful and mind their own. Don’t know the forest guys name but he helped us a lot!

A very nice, very small (RV capacity = 6) campground in a nice sized state forest (This is operated by the Florida State Forest Service, not Florida State Parks. State Parks are generally nice, but you can see the difference). The campground area is maintained extremely well, with plenty of cleared, mowed space around each campsite. Each campsite has at least an acre of trees/shrubs surrounding it, a concrete pad, fire ring, tent area, picnic table and electric/water hookups. There are a few picnic areas close to the bathhouse. With so few campsites on such a large area, this is a very quiet place. Now and then, you can hear a distant train passing by. The bathhouse is in good condition, with a large pavilion next to it. We stayed here during the rainy season and a lot of the area around the campsites is low, so there was a lot of standing water just off the road/sites, and a prevalence of mosquitoes. Equip yourself with repellent and you'll be fine. I enjoyed this campground more than most higher prices RV campgrounds in northern FL/southern GA, where they typically would have ten times the number of campsites in a similar sized property.

It’s a beautiful campground with nice bathrooms and showers. They are a bit of a hike from where the cub scouts had us set up at though.

We absolutely love this campground, mostly because we needed to have some quiet time and get our online work done. It is a beautiful place, campsites are far apart and VERY spacious for plenty of room and privacy. The roads, buildings and grounds are very well maintained and the bath house had a few showers as well, and were very clean. There is a pavilion for rental and group activities, two group campsites, and 6 private campsites. The private sites have 30/50amp and water, as well as a cement pad, fire ring, benches and pole to hang items. We were not here during the rainy season, so the trail was nice and walkable. Bring plenty of mosquito spray though, as this is the woods - - there ARE mosquitos. If you look spacious woody sites like we do, and do not care about full hookups, you will really enjoy this campground. There is not much to do here besides hiking, some biking, horseback riding and relaxing. We took a nice 4-mile bike ride, but came back via the main road. There was a bike trail most of the way. We experienced great cell service here. Our AT&T had 3 bars, 91mb download & 27mb upload speeds. Our Verizon service had 3 bars signal, 17mb download and 10mb upload. We had consistent service throughout our stay. The forest isn't totally quiet, as there is a train nearby and freeway noise, which we heard throughout the night. This is the only reason I'm not giving this campground a 5-star rating. Overall, this campground is pretty awesome, and I would highly recommend a stay here if you want to have a serene environment.

Terrific campsite with electric and water. The sites are spaced very far apart. The bathhouse was very roomy with two toilets and two showers each side. The trails were easy with two boardwalks over the wetlands. Big huge pavilion for gatherings. The Nature Trail here is one of the "Trailwaker Trails". Can get card for that at the Rangers Office on site. Horses are welcome but just not on the Nature Trail. They have their own "Trotter Trails". Recommended to all.
