Just had a couple of days at Cashel campsite, 1st time by myself, with 2 dogs, in a microcamper. They put me at the far end , where it is quiet, 50ft from edge of Loch lomond, stunning views, even in the mist and fog. Dogs loved it, they've never walked so much. Staff very helpful, nothing too much trouble, showers and toilets very clean, lovely hot water too. Plot sizes are good. Great place if you want quiet and remote, as it's on east side of the Loch. A little muddy in places, but it was 1st week in March 2025. Thankyou Cashel campsite
We stopped at Cashel Campsite while backpacking on the West Highland Way. The campsite pitching options were very good. We quickly found a nice place not too close to the lake, and therefore not too exposed to the wind. Their shop is good, and they gave us the option to leave our power banks in there overnight to charge. They also had fresh bread to sell. The facilities were good and clean. They had notices up asking campers to clean up after themselves. Showers were hot, with good water pressure. There were also anti-bug lamps at the doors, preventing flying insects from getting in the toilet and shower areas. They also had notices up asking campers to avoid making noise after 10pm, so the campsite was very quiet at night. However, we could hear the bathroom doors closing with a bang throughout the night. Maybe they need to ask campers to hold the doors when shutting them instead of letting them slam, or improve the door closure mechanisms.
Lovely site, with gorgeous views. Easy access to the Loch, if like us you have a kayak, or want a swim. Lovely hot showers, staff nice and friendly. Road down to the site can be awkward for passing other road users, especially with caravan or motor home. And some big potholes. But don't let this put you off. It is well worth it, and you're on the sunny side of the Loch in the evening. Will be back next year, Great site 👍 👌
We visited in the summer with friends and it was a terrible experience. Staff were bullies and you constantly felt watched by them. They patrolled past your pitch every 30 mins as if you were in a prison camp. The shop was ridiculously overpriced. Stay away unless you want to feel like you are incarcerated.
Gorgeous campsite on the North banks of Loch Lomond. Have their own slip for launches. We had the inflatable HMS Titanic 2 and true to form we sank her first time out. Anyone that finds her at the bottom of the loch please return the Rolex stowed in the pocket in the rucksack that was strapped to the bow. Thanks.
