Called a few days before visit, rain had been in the forecast but we decided to camp anyways. On the phone we were pitched a "ocean view" site for $110 a night due to it being far away from other sites. Upon arrival to the campsite, there was in fact zero view of the ocean, trash was left at the site, and no real area to hangout. The campground was completely empty so we could have gotten a cheaper rate if the lady who I spoke to on the phone just said they were slow. The potable water spout at the camp did NOT work. The bathroom light would not work, the shower just ate quarters and did not work the first few attempts. For the outrageous price, this campsite offered nothing bonus then a standard California State Campground for $30 anywhere else. We will NOT be camping here again.

This is such a fun campground and in an ideal location. We tent camped and I loved that the sites are tucked in to the lush forest. I felt they were pretty private. Yes, you can still see some other sites and hear neighbors but it wasn’t too bad. Our kids loved playing at the park and going to the beach. There is also room for the kids to ride their bikes. The RV spots did look like they were close together (as other reviews stated) so I think tent camping would be my preferred type of camping here. Everyone was friendly and we had a great time. We saw raccoons and skunks at our site too so make sure to store your food securely.

Great beach just across the road from the RV campsite. I kept hearing seals barking, but when I'd make it out to the beach there wasn't any there. I started wondering if it was a recording being played, since one of the times I was at the beach the seals were barking with none in sight. I was disappointed that I was told that in spite of there being numerous vacancies that I would not be allowed to drive in to look at campsites prior to picking one. Over the phone I was told the wifi reaches the whole park, with slow down during peak times. When I arrived I tried to confirm about the wifi access, maybe that's why I wasn't allowed to drive in. The wifi did not reach the whole park after all. I did like that the bathrooms are set up as individual rooms rather than stalls, but I think there could have been more bathrooms. There were porti-potties to fill in the gap, but when I'm paying more than the usual to tent camp, I'm not going into an outhouse. All of the bridges over the creek were cute, but at least one of them wobbled when I crossed it, which was pretty alarming. Van Damme State Park is about 5 minutes further down 101 with a beach just on the other side of the highway like Caspar RV, and it has just as many camp sites with wifi access. They have always allowed me to drive by the available campsites to choose which one I want when I don't have a reservation. They have a nice creek/babbling brook, with stable bridges even with the old one washed out. The lower campground has 4 real bathrooms shared by 30 campsites. The upper campground has 2 bathrooms shared by 44 campsites. Next time I'll be going to Van Damme instead.

Stayed here over Memorial Day Weekend and it was great! The place was packed, which we were told was unusual, but we still had a great time! Some of the full hookup sites near the front, maybe 17-26?, have a kind of shared outdoor space where the doors to the RVs open up to each other. It can be a bit different, but still nothing to complain about! The staff were extremely friendly and the beach is a close walk across the street. They had a summer concert series on the weekends, which was awesome and a cool experience to be part of! We will definitely stay here again in the future. Do make sure to store your food in your RV or car at night because there are skunks and racoons that will come for it if it's left out. Overall, this is an awesome place to stay when visiting Fort Bragg or Mendocino!

In over 200 nights of travel, Caspar Beach RV Park was absolutely the worst. Sites were cramped together (our neighbor's slide-out was over our fire pit and our picnic table was literally a foot from the side of their rig. Their sewer pipe was right outside when we stepped out our door. When inquiring about the laundry (which was one of the reasons we chose this spot) we were told it was "only for residents". WTH? Kids on bikes were riding around incessently. Dogs weren't on-leash. Neighbors (a large group of 4-5 RVs) and their kids were up very late at night. My husband likened the shower to a "prison shower". Full water, no opportunity to adjust it hotter or coler. We never saw anyone enforcing rules. All in all a huge disappointment for a big bill.
