I use Canoe Campground with my Scout troop every year. It's only accessible by canoe - no cars allowed. The ranger has a maintenance drive, and I usually leave a water stash there for pickup. The boat launch is upstream from the campground. Park and launch there to reach the campground downstream on the west side of the Rock River. There's a fee box near the outhouse to pay and register your campsite.
Clean camping and a nice place to hike. A refreshing change from the flat Illinois landscape.
It was the best place to camp - clean and nice. The rangers are very nice, and we had lots of fun .
Has everything you need: picnic table, fire pit, outhouse, and a small stream for filtering water.
Came here to camp, but the gates were locked and closed.
