We came just to check it out. Very clean, shady and spacious. Must go to the beach, there's a short trail to the sand. Water is mellow. So many trees, everywhere you look. There's some feral cats that might come to visit. Mostly tent camping. Though the ranger said up to 24' No dogs on the beach. This is the only thing I'd wish they would change. I can't leave them at the camp site, so not sure how that's going to work.
It had a nice camping experience here for 2 nights. The river was really pretty although i wasn't able to see the 'beach' part.y only complaint is that the dust seemed to fly up really easily. People with breathing conditions should always come prepared.
The kayak put in point is Willow Beach. A 200 yd carry from parking, and a 45° angled embankment. . .The Stanislaus River is shallow and occasionally fast. There are several trees down in the River, moderate skill levels are suggested. . . The park is well maintained. No biking trails? 4.5 hr paddle upstream from Caswell to Hwy 99.
Rangers take care of it well And there is just the best lake experience
Tent Camped in site 51. Nice site, Very pleased. Fit two vehicles well. Enough hiking trails to get my steps in and the beaches are ok. Grandchild loved it. Very nice restrooms and showers. (Pay$)
