Cedar Creek Resort & RV Park Introduce
Cedar Creek Resort & RV Park, located in Columbia, Missouri, presents a mixed experience for campers and RV travelers. While the park offers certain amenities, numerous reviews highlight significant concerns regarding safety, maintenance, and rule enforcement.
Cedar Creek Resort & RV Park offers the following features and services:
- Clean Bathrooms: The bathrooms are noted for being very nice, clean, and recently updated.
- Playground: The park includes a playground for children.
- Pond: A pond is present within the campground.
- Tent Camping Area: A large open field is designated for tent camping.
However, it is important to be aware of the following potential challenges:
- Safety Concerns: Guests have reported individuals openly carrying firearms, creating an unsafe and uncomfortable environment.
- Lack of Rule Enforcement: Complaints include unchecked dog poop, excessive noise at night, and open drug use, indicating poor rule enforcement.
- Maintenance Issues: Overgrown grass, abandoned trailers, and general neglect of the property have been reported.
- Dishonest Reviews: Accusations of staff asking for 5-star reviews in exchange for discounts raise concerns about the validity of online reviews.
- Noise Complaints: Quiet hours are reportedly not enforced, with loud noises and disturbances occurring late at night.
- Dog Waste: Numerous reports of dog poop left uncleaned throughout the park.
- Drug Use: Open drug use, including smoking marijuana, has been observed by guests.
- Privacy Issues: Tent camping area is a large open field with little privacy.
- Reservation Issues: Reports of reserved spots being given to other campers.
Guests have highlighted the clean bathrooms and the presence of a playground and pond as positive aspects. However, numerous negative reviews detail significant concerns about safety, rule enforcement, and maintenance. The presence of firearms, unchecked dog waste, noise complaints, and drug use create a troubling atmosphere. The alleged practice of soliciting positive reviews in exchange for discounts further undermines the park's credibility.
Cedar Creek Resort & RV Park is not recommended for campers seeking a safe, clean, and well-managed environment. The numerous safety and maintenance concerns outweigh the few positive aspects. Potential visitors should carefully consider the reported issues before making a reservation. The lack of rule enforcement and the presence of safety hazards make this park a risky choice for many travelers.

We made a reservation to tent camp here on our way up to another destination. While we were traveling they called us to let us know that they gave the spot we had reserved to someone else (which they reserve the right to do in their original reservation email.) So we were given a choice of alternate spots. We ended up in the 411-414 block for tents, which is a big open field. Luckily we had this area to ourselves. I imagine if there were any other campers, there wouldn't be much privacy. The campground itself was pretty, there is a playground and a pond. The bathrooms were very nice and clean and seemed to be recently updated. Overall for the price I would say its definitely worth it.
Edit 3: Walk around around around 7pm and smell weed yourself. The guy in 127 carries a gun on his hip. There is another guy who does the same, I will find out which site he is at and update my review. Don't worry, I have been taking a lot of pictures and will share everything in a YouTube video and will tag your campground. Why didn't you comment about the trailer without a wheel, or dog poop everywhere, long grass, people who are loud late at night. You lie about quiet hours. You know there isn't such a thing, or people leave trash everywhere? If you claim no one reported late night noises, dog poop, the large dog at a site near by the host that barks days and night and you can hear him throughout the park, trash everywhere, or long grass, then you live in denial. How many times have you visited the bathhouse yourself? It's more dirty than Walmart restroom. I will share my YouTube video of pictures and videos once I am done with it. One side of the park seems ghetto-ish and you, the owner, don't care. it seems like you care for money only. Your staff ask people to leave 5 star reviews in return for a discount! What a great way of getting good reviews. EDIT 2: People walk with dogs and let their dogs poop everywhere, including my grass, and don't pick them up. The management isn't enforcing any rules. Diana is right. You have to watch your step when you walk. Otherwise, you'd step in some dog poop. They lie about quiet hours. There is no such thing in this park. I am taking pictures of dog poop, camper without wheels!! People walking with firearms, 2 feet tall grass around hookups (they did hire someone to cute the grass, they did good job at some sites and poor job at others). Once I have enough pictures, I will upload them here and also I am starting a YouTube video and will include all pictures and videos of non stop barking dogs, people being loud late at night, dirty bathrooms/bath house and others. EDIT 1: Thank you for your response to my review. What part of my review you didn't like? Everything I stated is true. You did not comment on anything but the kid. 1) I am currently staying at your lovely campground, not for too long, my work in Columbia is coming to an end and once I leave I will never come back here. 2) I just added a few more pictures (taken today Sept21,2024). 3) Go for a walk now and see who's smoking weeds, people smoke weed openly. You permit drug usage on your property? 4) Quiet hours? Since when? The modified motorcycle owner started his motorcycle at midnight last Sunday Sept 15, 2024 and when I went out to request him to shut it, he told me to find a different campground. 5) People are walking around with firearms here at the campground. Is this a war zone? I can provide pictures if you'd like. I wonder if you allow this because you know the campground isn't safe. 6) The dog in the 100s site barks the whole day. I'll record it tomorrow and share the YouTube link here. 7) You took care of the loose husky dog after 5 days. You get some credit for that. Your response is false. I will update this review in two weeks if I noticed any improvement. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Shady character people walk all over the campground. Some walk with firearms on their hips, which create unsafe and uncomfortable environment. Park seems beaten, overgrown grass. Last winter someone was walking around sites and messing with water. Hosts are nice but they can't enforce or unwilling to enforce policies. Owner claims they have taken care of all the issues I mentioned in my previous review (before the owner reported it and it got removed) but that's false, they have taken care of nothing other than the kid who was shirtless the whole summer is actually wearing a shirt and shoes now. The camper with a non stop barking dog is still there, you hear the dog barks days and nights. I feel the owner should be more involved. I do not recommend this RV Campground to anyone. I will add more pictures.
Our quick overnight stay was perfect! Easy in, easy out. Clean spaces, good neighbors, and BEAUTIFUL surrounding area. Definitely will stay here again on our trips back and forth.
Me and my wife stayed here for about 3 months. We really enjoyed the area and all the places you can walk your dogs. The fishing is solid for sure!
A nice overall campground. Only stayed for a day. The facilities and land are well taken care of. Full hookup also worked great although you will likely need 12+ feet of sewer hose and 20 feet of clean water hose to reach the connections. The lake and ponds are maintained. They also have a dog park. The campground did smell like weed but everyone was nice.
